There is a certain type of personality that will constantly look for flaws to try and makes things better. I don't see all the wankfest that this is necessarily a bad thing? Just different types of people.

But if you thing georgies comment is being smart and witty and is worthy of your clapping emoticon...so be it...you are just a different personality again. :)

I agree that we all have different personality types..as in the Myer Briggs test, and that what some might call fault finding, others see as a gift that will ultimately find solutions.

However, if you can't be happy even for a short period when your team wins the flag, it's probably safe to say you are a little out of whack. Whacky even. Morose and incurable most likely.

There will be a war and quite possibly a collapse of the US dollar. These two events may well be linked.

The war will unfortunately herald a period of prolonged and multiple conflicts.

The worldline of a US dollar will collapse is one where there are severely negative economic circumstances that are caused by Peak Oil

(or more correctly, a diabolical mismanagement of Peak Oil by governments - including our own.

Peak Oil is a clear and present danger that is being ignored at our peril).

This will cause the US Fed to lose control over its financial destiny and - following this - the dollar will collapse -with devastating consequences.

But dont worry - Carlton will have their 18th flag - and will be eyeing a 19th - possibly with the new young coach in his first year...

I think I was wrong in suggesting that we would win only one flag in this cycle.

In the dark days of the mid 2000's, I never dared to ever believe in multiple cups...But I think that I should have.

This is because I believe that the time of the new young, golden haired Carlton coach amidst a backdrop of global depression and war will come to pass.

The season of the new young coach in one where there is less car travel - probably because of a dramatic and sudden collapse in the global availability of oil.

But for the new young coach scenario to become real -it means that either there will probably have to be multiple flags - quite possibly three - or else a failure for Ratten as a coach before the next flag is won - followed by either a sacking or non renewal of contract..

However I dont think that Ratten will fail.

Instead, his worldline is set to be one of a dual premiership coach and one of the Carlton greats. (He already is close to a Carlton great as it stands right now).

It is the carefully selected assistant coaches that will be the key with all of this...

Losing all preseason matches was a fairly regular occurrence when Carlton was a power in the past.

Someone might check this - but I suspect that the last time we won the first three matches of the season was 1995.

This would be a very portentous event for 2012 if it is true.

That would require acknowledging that he was wrong and the recruitment/coaching team actually do know what they're on about.

too many flankers  not enough inside mids

You got Flanker right anyway.
I finally get it. You are live from the Edinburgh Festival!!

What a convenient truth.

(regarding blueman's post.)

He's been posting positive comments after the last two matches, and it's Easter for Greek Orthodox this week.

Perhaps you should heed the advice you're implying in your comments?

Time for this to come back... Rather than spamming the player threads with our negativity, which I'm sure there is plenty of going through some of our heads right now.

Hasn't been a great 24 hours.

Charlie down again.

Austin exposed firstly by Dodo and then by Wells.

I'm happy to have Saad in, but he has cost us plenty.

And Fogarty is a bottom 6 player. Don't see him as a long term, but hope I'm wrong. And at whose expense does he come in for?

Wish I felt better about getting these guys in. Convince me... Please.

Have you accounted for the Henderson pick?

Without at least 2 more quality inside/outside midfielders I don’t think we will have sustained success

Saad won’t fix that problem. Williams may be one of those players. Not sure at this stage.

Curnow going down again is huge. Was supposed to be one of our key pillars going forward.

Huge doubts now.

Exposed! The same Wells who just sent a former pick 10 off for a future 3rd round pick? The same Dodoro who has been list manager at Essendon* while they've gone SIXTEEN YEARS without winning a final?

What does my head in is people's need to have a definitive rating of a trade the second it happens. Fogarty is 21 FFS. Let's revisit it when he's 25. Or at least til he's played a game for us.
