So just received my membership renewal notification. I'm trying to work out if there has been some sort of discount on last year or anything extra to members who did nothing more than make significant donations to the clubs for 2020. I know they've sent out offering for us to nominate someone to get a new membership for 2021, but what about the members that handed out their hard earned for 2020 for nothing other than the love of the club?

It looks like my 2021 renewal fee has been frozen at the 2020 price. Not sure if that's across the board?

That's great. I really think the AFL should be heavily subsidising members renewals. The money that the club would have got, I'm all for. The money that would have gone to the AFL as part of the entry fee etc, give it back to the members in their 2021 membership.

I just feel that charging the same price as last year isn't enough recognition to the members who showed an incredible amount of loyalty. We paid for entry to games that we were never able to attend. The AFL owes its fans

I remember reading that members who pledged their full membership fees to the club this year would get the 11 game GA membership to gift to someone. Their 2021 membership price frozen. Their name immortalised on a wall in the redevelopment which will be priced at $500 for anyone else wanting their name on there and would be invited to a function as a thank you along with all others who pledged their membership.

That's great stuff ... plus more... free memberships ...

The 2021 numbers are up and we have already 43,000.

I know AFL teams are up against it matching 2020 membership numbers obut I wont be surprised to see us exceed 70,000 in 2021, and if it weren't for covid we would be hitting 80-85,000 because Liddle knows how to get those numbers with offers one can't refuse.

That is right.
My hubby and daughter are Collingwood Legends members, paying upwards of $800 a year and they got nothing extra.
I think the price was the same but that is all.

I am a Members reserve member with the Captains Club upgrade and I also got the free membership for next season.
My other daughter hast an 11 game Carlton membership and she got that at a discounted price this year and that is still at the same price for next year.

Good to hear that we are offering more than Collingwood Kezza. No doubt all these free memberships will help lift our membership numbers a lot higher than they would have been. Then it's up to Liddle and his team to keep them hooked.

My kids were both members last year and because we just let it ride they've gifted my wife and I memberships for this year.

I signed my girlfriend up with the free membership for 2021. She had no experience with AFL before we got together, and I managed to get her out to see the Port game (where we lost after the siren) and the Brisbane game with our famous fadeout and comeback - having 8 games in QLD this year helped provide a great opportunity to bring her along to a couple. She loved the atmosphere and definitely looked good in the borrowed scarf and beanie! Looking forward to increasing her knowledge of the game and hopefully get her out to more games next season.
