You have to take your chances against top teams. Levi 2 average kicks at goal. Cripps a shocker whilst West Coast make the most of opportunities.
We had the chances to wrap it up early and couldn't do it.
Did anyone hear anything on the reserves game?

Reserves game was 12 a side. According to reports Dow was BOG. Marchy got through unscathed. LOB was good. Owies kicked 3 and Lang 4.
Sorry, can't find link but assume it's somewhere on club website.

Another good effort but simply not good enough.
Umpiring is terrible and cost us at least 4 goals, getting sick of being on the wrong end of these dreadful decisions.
Good to see Fisher back and play such a good game.
Walsh is a star.
Hopefully TDK plays the rest of the year.
Getting tired of these momentum shifts and we seem powerless to stop them.
Casboult has lost all confidence in front of goal, not sure what is going on with Cripps but definately something not right.
That holding the ball against SPS is one of the worst of the year.
What the hell was the 50 for?
Apparently Cuningham played a good game, funny I didnt think he was playing.
Did I say the umpiring was shit?

Natanui is a star, even without a free against for htb, which he did at least three times.

Pfft. Overrated, and protected. Has a 'free pass' for picking up the ball then dropping it cold. Always 'play on'. Sh8ts me to tears.

Your guide dog has no idea.

We were equal leaders with Port and Brisbane for qtrs won at the end of round 10. Just highlights our in-game inconsistency further.

Any chance the coach can drop some numbers back when the inevitable surge comes?
Betts has kicked 1 goal in the last 4 weeks and 0 goals in the last 3 games.

I said the same after the 2nd goal. Drop someone in the hole to assist it’s not flower rocket science help the defenders when the other team is on a roll. Do something Teague FMD!!!!

You don't see it on TV but Docherty is almost always loose in the hole. He is struggling big time.

A good effort but again inconsistent
As ZbV says don’t take our opportunities
Makes last week even more frustrating
Ran out of personnel today but a good effort from the team we fielded
Enjoyed Fisher TDK and Cotterell getting a go
TDK should play for the rest of the season
Fisher needs game time too
Cotterell an ok start
Good first half
Kennedy and Setterfield need to do more but improving
Jones was excellent
Forward line ok given always going to struggle to kick winning score
Disappointing Martin being injured
Need Dow etc go get a go
Need to play as well in the next 2 weeks Freo and GC
Umpiring criminal

Seasons cooked. It’s all about next year and beyond. Play the kids. Keep TDK in. Play him over Pittonet if Harry comes back. He’s the future. Bring in Dow, let’s get a look at Honey, hopefully Stocker is back soon. We need to keep bringing through youth

Freo and GC next 2. Very winnable. Actually, have to be won.

Yeah but not doing any damage this season. It’s still all about development. Too many missed opportunities already

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
While it's there you keep going. Making it, or working hard to make it will do more for development than anything else. Nothing like a lesson of what's required for the big time.

Wait until it's out of the question before giving others a run.

Disagree. For the first time this season, I’m at the point where I’d rather play Dow or Stocker over a Murphy or Newnes. It might hurt us short term, but these guys need game time to develop. We’re too far off the pace with the current lineup. Improvement has to come from underneath.

Playing TDK is the perfect example

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Yeah you haven't got it in for Murphy at all.

Was one of our best but drop him.

Let me guess, the world is flat, 5G will kill us all and the virus was concocted in a lab...could I just point out, dollars, advertising, those who run the AFL...I'd hazard a guess and say not a leftie in the lot of 'em. Yep umpiring as shit but lets not blame that on state premiers....

Pros:
Very good first half.
Effort was there all day, even when they got away from us.
Good to see Fish back - clean and skilful which we’ve missed. Must play the rest of the year.
TDK showed there’s a lot to work with - just needs some time at the level to adjust to the pace and physicality.
Cottrell had a go and again showed enough to persist with.
Jones very good bounce back after poor game last week.

Cons:
Another failure to stop momentum in that third quarter.
Midfield beaten again. Not surprising against IMO the best midfield in the comp. Need to find another mature A grade mid - Kelly, Wines, Zac Williams can do it too.
Martin injury - not sure the severity but presumably missed games.
Really ruing the Melbourne and Hawthorn failures. If we’d won just one, then we’d be 5-5 and in it up to our eyeballs. Instead, we’re 4-6 and no chance of finals.

Win the Melbourne and Port games, one being a shit loss the other we were in front when the siren went, and we're 6-4.

Inconsistency in-game has really hurt us this year.

Eagles storm home after bright start by the Blues

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/eag ... 55k2j.html

Quote:
Late in the first quarter, with Carlton leading by a goal, Sam Petrevski-Seton was penalised for holding-the-ball after he was pinned in a fierce tackle by big Eagles forward Jack Darling.

He was tackled as soon as he took possession of the ball and had no way to move either arm.

Darling not only received the free kick, but also a 50m penalty after at least one of the Blues near the play questioned the decision made by umpire Nathan Williamson.

Umpire Nathan Williamson(no.22) should be dropped

Compare his game with others and tell me where he sits in today's game.

Same old same old
Lack of depth in the middle

Add to this forward line way too small
Would have played Kennedy permanently there today
Kennedy isn’t a mid
Too slow but he has excellent hands.
Some of his contested marks were great

Didn’t take our chances

The holding the ball rule is vey inconsistent
Yes there were some mystifying decisions but it works both ways
Gibbons free debatable
Rub of the green evens out over the season
DeKoning is very exciting
Thought Cottrell deserves another week
