I’m a week into 2 cracked ribs and I can’t laugh, cough, sneeze or fart without pain+++. Deep inspiration is impossible. No way I could play football, can’t even go for a jog...

According to Russell's injury report Jack will hopefully only miss a week, Dow only a week or two away and Marchbank coming along well, 2-3 away. Fisher and Harry sound ready to go.

Russell should be our highest paid FD staff member. He's definitely the most important, IMO.

Thankfully we don’t really need him right now. With the rest of the backline fit and firing, only player I can see him replacing is Plowman unless we play him on a wing which I kind of like the idea of

Saying this while looking out for black cats, ladders, holding a rabbit's foot, crossing fingers, touching wood, throwing salt over shoulder and sitting.....

But since Newman we have had a good run on the injury front, while it seems to be carnage at other teams.
Hope it's Russell's good work

Marchbank still with the dreaded 1-2 weeks
Same for Gov
SOS another 2 weeks

Interesting that Dow is listed as a week with a knee again after playing in the scratch match. Pulled up sore again?

AR said Marchbank would be playing a ressies game this weekend if there was one.

Charlie Curnow Knee Season
Paddy Dow Knee 1 week
Brodie Kemp Knee Season
Matthew Kreuzer Foot 2-4 weeks
Caleb Marchbank Knee 1-2 weeks? (AR did say he could play ressies if they had a game this week though)
Mitch McGovern Hamstring 1-2 weeks
Harry McKay Knee Test
Nic Newman Knee Season
Jack Silvagni Knee 2 weeks

Sounded like so long as Harry trains well, he will be back this week.

Halfway through the year and the injury list hasn't decimated our backline. That stability is making the cohesion of the backline improve each week.

Really only the forwardline having a rough year. Good thing Levi is durable.

I know there are teams with worse injuries but we really have had our fair share this year and most long term ones
Kreuz Newman Charlie now JSOS all out for season and played about 3 games in total between them all

Round 9 and Fisher and Dow OBrien just now fit to play
Marchbank still injured no games
H also injured a few times

Not as bad as some but a lot worse than others

Our injuries have been terrible this year and long term impacted injuries to key players.
Crucial players part of our 22 who have played one game or less in 2020 are: Charlie, Dow, Fisher, Newman, Kruezer, Marchbank.
6 players in our best 18/22 = 1/3 of our side. Not including Macreade or Kerr either.
It takes it's toll in results, specifically when you add minor 2 to 4 week impacts.

Our injuries have been terrible for years, not just 2020. We have lost so much valueble development time to young players it's not funny

Same story every year: the top teams are the ones with the least injuries, while perennial failureclubs like Norf, * and Carlton are at the top end of the injury table. It's not the whole story of our failure, but it's a big part.

As a Liverpool FC supporter, the contrast is glaring. Opposition fans bemoan Liverpool's "luck" with injuries. Liverpool fans bemoan the lack of squad depth every off-season : "we need another striker./ left back / centre half, we're [REDACTED] if X, Y & Z get injured". But X, Y & Z never get injured, and the wins pile up.

Liverpool figured out about 5-6 years ago that targeting only players with impeccable fitness records will allow you to build a cohesive, winning team (especially when pitted against certain clubs with bottomless cash pits and a feeble regulatory system). Maybe Carlton needs to wake up and stop buying players who could be a steal if they can overcome their double knee reconstruction and history of hamstring tears. If you can't stay on the pitch you are useless. Time to look past raw talent (not that we judge that particularly well!) and consider what makes a winner.

Its been a huge problem since 2002.

Remember the injury list Wayne Brittain was expected to work miracles with?
