Says a lot.

Yep. Leagues worth a lot more dollars and with substantially more followers domestically and worldwide have pulled the pin.

It's not if the AFL is called off (for whatever timeframe), but when.

It's not if we're asked/told to work from home, but when.

I hope they close it down and show some leadership
Have never been so underwhelmed by the start of the season EVER

i reckon they are holding off for the last minute so they can blame it on the government etc.. so they arent breaking contracts or the like ... everything the afl does, is done for money.

I have never been so disinterested in the start of a season as I am now.
The AFL are coming off as being a bunch of hypocrites, (nothing new) by postponing State leagues and local ones yet they want to play on.
The players are coming across as being greedy.
As a retail worker in one of the big supermarkets it is a daily challenge to get through a day without being abused over toilet paper.
The start of the season is the least of my worries.

Go Blues!

Yep, & just think about the trains to & from Carlton/Richmond

Whatever form this season ultimately takes, any flag win will have a huge * against it.

The formula is quite simple

As soon as the first player gets it, the season is virtually OVER

That team goes into quarantine for two/three weeks so the season is suspended

As sure as night follows day, another player from another club will test positive and the quarantine protocol starts again

It will be a ripple effect with some naive pretence at the start of the season with a few rounds (maybe???) and then the AFL calling a big media conference that the season is too interrupted and too compromised. Season over.

And players wanting to play 22 games...apologies but that's just a cynical way to say they've honored their contract and want the money

Me...I am happy to donate my 3 full memberships (over $2000) to the club. There are many people working there whose livelihood is based around a regular pay cheque. In this extreme and atypical year, I have no hesitation in having my money support the club in its hour of need

Most honourable, 99prelim.

Well they say bad things come in threes, and after the bushfires and coronavirus, only one thing could top them, and you have identified it. Thanks, I just threw up.

This.
Remember the campaign of 2003?
"It's my club not yours"
or whatever it was?
Record memberships followed the salary cap cheating saga.
They sold $5 teeshirts for $30 by the thousand to raise money.
Members will be happy to dig in.

Including the AFL's reserves competitions.

It's asinine.

I love it when you talk dirty.

Definetely an ass of a decision.

After watching 360 last night, I accepted the argument that the players are safer on the field than anywhere else they are allowed to go such as trams and trains.

I love it when you talk dirty, even if you do it in an evasive manner.

It couldn't be * ?
Please don't let it be.

* would be counting on less drug testing whilst corona has the attention of the world.

Their performance enhancing drugs only last 16 weeks though, and I expect they go down hill when drug tests step up.

So, is the footy essential or non-essential?
