I do not get why we play Dogs twice before the bye when we should be playing Melbourne or GC twice instead.

I think we have a pretty tough 2020 draw for a side that came 16th this year.
Play Richmond, Western Bulldogs, Sydney, St Kilda and North Melbourne twice. The Dogs should be at least a top 6 side whilst the Saints have recruited well and should improve. The Swans have some good kids and will be tough to beat in Sydney. Hopefully North slide down the ladder.
Our first 4 matches are Richmond, Western Bulldogs, Essendon* (after a 5 day break   ) and then the Swans in Sydney. If we can win a couple of these matches then things are looking good.

Champion Data ranks it the 6th hardest draw.

Thanks AFL.

Richmond is the only team there that I don't think we can beat, the others are all winnable.

Honestly I can't see where we will lose a game.

MCG, Marvel Stadium, SCG, Optus Stadium, Adelaide Oval - we may lose a few at these venues...

Should win at Metricon Stadium though!

I find this perplexing for a team that was 3rd last on the ladder and didnt warrant a Friday night game.

There must be a way we can protest to the AFL...in numbers.

The AFL deserve the wrath of all Carlton supporters for everything they have done against the club in the last 2 decades and everything they haven't done for Carlton, because management wont say boo.

I find the Old School Tie AFL Commision corrupt and lack respect for a founding club of the VFA, VFL and AFL....Carlton signed off on their existence and this is what we get.

Fancy Melbourne having 3 Friday night games and Carlton 0. Who can work that out?

I'm not interested in Thursday night games other than the opener.

Whilst I agree that the fixture is flawed I feel it doesn’t have a huge effect on shaping who wins the premiership each year. Adelaide were meant to have an easy draw this year but they were mismanaged, had a poor coach so it didn’t matter. Talent, coaching and injuries all well in front of the fixture. Have all three on song and the fixture counts for little.

On a quick glance the Dogs, Saints and Melbourne have easy draws. Dogs best placed to take advantage of it, but that will be quickly displaced if say Bontempelli gets injured.

Start winning like we did in the back half this year and the AFL will use us to maximise ratings. If there is money to be taken, they’re not going to miss KPIs and bonuses, like most people would.

Agree.

As has been said, it's a tough draw for a team that finished 16th this year. AFL obviously thinks we are going to be a force, hope we don't let them down.

Suns are 3rd... when you're a perennial loser (like we are), every game/season looks hard...

The fixture should see the bottom teams play each other twice as a starting point, then the makey Uppey AFL Blockbusters, then all other stuff.

It shouldnt matter where Carlton Richmond Collingwood and Ess*druggies are on the ladder, they should play each other twice a year: The are the pillars of VFL/AFL. They are the original and only Blockbuster evolved since the start. The are the original local Derbys.

Local and interstate Derbies should play each other twice.

Its easy. Its logical. It makes sense!

Don't think you should look at last year's ladder and say we should be playing bottom sides twice.
I think 3 sides in the bottom half of the ladder under performed.
I am glad we are not playing Port Crows and Dees twice any of those 3 if they get their shit together could finish top 4.

I don't mind the double ups this year because I think we will smash Tiges round 1

We will !

I have been flying over from Perth for the last 5 years for the Round 1/Grand Prix double and every year its major disappointment in both.

Was thinking of skipping it next year so we will definitely smash Richmond and Ricciardo will miraculously do well in the grand prix too.

I am a curse.

Good Onya NBH

Beach weather in Sydney at that time.
Water will be about 21 degrees.

On field Blues will be hot and burn off anything Swans throw at us.

I wonder if Papley plays for the Swans.

Any seating/ticketing tips for the SCG BB?
