I know this is the wrong thread but the new 2020 membership one has not been started yet.
I received my membership renewal today and I am not impressed.
I have a members reserved membership and this year was given an upgrade to Captains club.
I basically sat in the same seats but got to use the social club rooms before and after the game.
My renewal includes the members reserve and they have added on Captains club upgrade of $230.
This will automatically be debited from my account unless I contact the club.
I have looked up the packages for next year and Captains club with a reserved seat, which is in a different area to where I sit, is $635.
My total will be $685. Not only will I be ripped off I am still sitting in the cheaper membership seats.
I am not impressed and will be ringing the club soon.
The membership department has done a lot right in recent years but this is not one of them.

I had a feeling this was going to happen with the automatic upgrades this year.

It will be you have to “opt out” if you want to go back to what you were last year rather than get a choice to “opt in”.

I don’t think you’ll be Robinson Crusoe in being unimpressed.

Do what you have to do.
Don't be left "tricked" into losing your 'normal' seat.

I'm appalled. Its not necessary. Sponsorships will cover costs in future.
Friday night footy pays for everything, and we are coming remember: Toot Toot

Don't let them trick you.

Previous regime lost 1000's of members who were dudded their seats together and are trying to win them back.

Keep us posted. We will keep them honest. Shame.

That is right. Every membership that was upgraded has been upgraded automatically, only this time you have to pay extra.
I rang the club today and asked why I was being charged $685 when a Captains Club membership cost $635 and I was sitting in the "cheaper" seats too.
I was told that if I wanted to go with the Captains Club they would give it to me at the lesser amount of $635 and if I wanted to could move to "better" seats.
The guy also mentioned that as a Captains club member you were guaranteed a grand final ticket. He said if the club suddenly rises up the ladder they will have to cap this membership as there is only a limited amount of grand final tickets available. He said there would be a waiting list if this happened.
My daughter had a 3 game membership and she has been upgraded to a 11 game one but at a discounted price of $150. This is not too bad but it so wrong that we have to ring to opt out of these upgrades.

...and illegal.

You have been "Slammed".

Unethical and at such a bad time to be doing this.

If this is Liddle doing his thing and being praised for it, I have to call it for what it is if true: a con_ _ _

Very true.

Unfortunately 'opted out' yesterday. Will still 'support the club', but I can no longer 'support the club'.

Always surprised when Doc finds a new issue with the club.

  Well...their sales pitch 3 years ago was akin to begging. It tugged at the heartstrings. What was one to do Dane? Of course I gave to charity.

But the bandwagon is here now, so I won't stand in the way of someone who wants to fork out $925 for a membership that to be honest is a bit meh.

So I'm weighing up my options re: membership. At this stage I've narrowed it down to Suns, Eagles, Giants but will wait for the all important fixture before deciding. It's very exciting!

I’m with Doc. Sometimes you have to keep them honest.

Read the numbers on another forum, nothing official on the CFC website.
Apparently 13,000 up on this time last year.

Cheers.
Really good numbers, all we need to do is win some early games to keep it rolling along.
Sounds like lots of members have direct debit.
I ended up keeping the Captains Club upgrade, just in case we make the Grand Final.

Pretty easy to do when you auto-renew members without letting them know beforehand.
Not happy Jan!

Not true. I received an email outlining everything that was happening with changes this year. If people didn’t receive it, maybe they should update their contact details.
