Anything could happen in 2006!!

It sometimes amazes me at how little pleasure some people get from following Carlton. Maybe it just seems that way in the written word? Otherwise, I think "why bother?".

It's such a fantastic game, is AFL. Fancy, it was less than 12 months ago we one the WC, and supporters were in absolute joy, chanting the Fevola song...I remember PJ was in the crowd which was shown on TV singing that song, and he even got quoted in Inside Football. Everyone was so exited and caught up in the moment.

That's what footy is all about. The highs and lows. The joy of a great win, the agony of a bad loss, and the optimism that everything will be just fine next week when we bounce back!

Don't people find that fun?

here here!

if you cant be optimistic and excited this time of year, then you never will be!

it took me a little while to get over the fact that we were crap, but once that happened, games started to become more enjoyable as i could see the future in the good kids we have running around.

next season will be much the same, and hopefully i'll be presantly surprised with a few extra wins.

i love the Journey that the Carlton Football Club has taken me on in my ten years of following footy. last season has been my only were my enthusasim waned somewhat but i can play the tank or not to tank issue for that.

i'm so pumped for 06 i've alreayd booked my flight down to see our opening wizard cup game, and i also bough 3 Carlton DVD's today!

i'm optimistic because of the hope and potential the new guys will bring to this club. i want to see some pride restored back in the jumper.

i'm not expecting finals, i'm expecting NAB rising star nominations and brownlow votes for kids!

Is there a way there two blokes could share the next POW? PJ? :-D

I was at Uni in 1979 - 1982. I could have a repeat of that little period!

Mirrored your periods at school myself - Great times, great times.

So did you guys have big 40 th Birthday parties ??

Better than that - I had a "Kouta" Party last year.

I'm heading for a Robert Walls this year but slowly running out of players .

It must be difficult for some posters to understand just how bloody good this side of ours was especially between 79-82 . Watched the 79 flag in bed had just been run over by a bike had over 20 stitches in my head -lost my Carlton beanie and tore my black leather jacket. the win made up for it

I remember the days... I'm planning a 40th and am thinking of theming it up... I 'm undecided , its either Nerd or Alphabet. Leaning towards Nerd though.

Kouta theme was great for my 43rd Birthday - my wife even went down to training and managed to get some video of Kouta wishing me a Happy 43rd Birthday. 8)

There is a huge difference between being optimistic and being realistic, this is the problem. A high number of people are always optimistic regardless of the circumstances, others look at it realistically and seem to face the obvious facts. Neither views are necessarily wrong, it's just that they are poles apart.

I'm in the realistic camp by the way !!

Everyone creates their own reality, it's entirely personal, and there's no wrong or right about it. It just is.

For example some people choose not to watch Neighbours.

Others choose to watch it, but continually criticise is, put it down, lable it crap, and generally take a negative view towards it.

Others watch Neighbours and simply just enjoy it. That's me. Sure, some of the acting is crap, the plots don't always go the way I expect or even like, and characters/actors come and go. That's what makes me enjoy watching Neighbours! It's FUN!

If I didn't like it, I wouldn't watch it. No point doing something that makes you unhappy. Life's too short. Everything should be FUN!!

yes but on par with Neighbours..

And you look forward to Lance going to London over summer and putting on his tights to do the kiddies pantomines type fun..

Try and pick which of our players is going to pull the pin and become bad singers...

Clap when Bouncer comes in and saves the day...

I can see the LA similarity with Jason Donovan... wed have to get LA and Karl to the 'Viper Bar' so they can faint and stuff...

See for me.. its abit more serious than Neighbours..

But now i get where youre coming from... cos i was abit stumped before this..

Thanks for sharing...

I prefer not to be judgemental. Life's too short to be spending all your time judging others rather than enjoying life. It's quite simple.

My take on how we all create our own personal reality. It's human nature to make other peoples' realities the same as yours by trying to influence them to see things the same way as you.
