Commented on it early in the match day thread. Horrible camera work and camera selection. It was very noticeable.

Add it to Paul Roos commentary, where he just drones on about rubbish and it was a poor broadcast. Capped off with the analysis that we have a lot of high draft picks.

Thank goodness it wasn’t just me. I thought I was just getting even grumpier in my old age..

My 15YO son was most aggrieved by the camerawork.
And he’s an expert staring at screens ...

Contest after contest. Won first 7 clearances against the best in the contested game.

Seasoned bodies in the guts and winning their contest.
Ball gets out the bubble and the kids didn't take a backward step.

Boys did it for 4 quarters.
I thought our boys were tougher and looked fitter.
The Swans outside speed on a couple occasions looked ominous, but our kids gave them few opportunities.

Kreuzer Cripps Curnow Murphy led the charge.
Walsh is special...old soul?
Kids floated in and out when needed but did not shirk a contest.

I love having Levi circa 2019 in the team. He crashes packs and hurts.
He and McKay are contested marking beasts.
Harry has to fix up his set shots at goal routine.
He doesn't only look laconic, he is.

I look into the future and see a lot of pain inflicted on the opposition when:

Fisher OBrien Dow Walsh SPS McKay put on some more muscle and stamina.
They will be stronger for longer: great character.

Gibbons does a lot of hard work.
His first half earned standing ovations from my clan in Mykonos.

As much as Newman frustrates me with his turnovers he was a star today.

All this without a game plan practised throughout the preseason.
All this without Charlie Curnow, McGovern and Deluca in the forwardline.
All this without Docherty Marchbank Williamson and Weitering in our backline.
All this without the speed of Deluca and Cuningham.

...and one down on the bench with a broken jaw.

...and without one versatile beauty in Liam Stocker.

Destination club!!!!!!!!!!!

And you can add TDK into that mix

Just to add a little balance to the thread.....the Swans played with no recognised ruckman and no Buddy and McVeigh; we have no idea how good or bad DeLuca is yet; Williamson has played 2 games in 2 years and may not play again; we won by 7 points.

Winning is better than losing, but please let’s keep perspective.

Agreed. It felt like they didn't trust their cameramen with close ups. Felt like I was watching the game from the top deck of the Southern Stand, but without the whole ground perspective.

Pros:

Tackling pressure.
Lots of contributors.
Scrapping goals.
Newman and Plowman.
Casboult and Harry.
Walsh, Murphy, Gibbons, Kreuzer.

Cons:

TV coverage.
Rampe and other Sydney defenders assaulting our forwards in marking contests.

Good idea.
Absolutely not, in the future he'll be just a smudge on our history book. While we're at it we should name a best backman award to Simon Verbeek

Thank you.

It's amazing really, this worship of Bolton. An abject failure in most measurements he was.

This isn't under 10s where everyone gets an award for participating ffs.

Ditto
Very poor standard game but a lot of games are almost unwatchable at the minute
Good to win better than losing

Should win next week but it’s after that the fun really starts
and we will see how far the team has improved under a new head coach

Re the camera work, for those of you who don’t watch many SCG games there are a lot of shadowed areas at the SCG because the stands (particularly the western side near the SCG Members and Ladies’ Stand) are quite low and the shadows are itregular because the height of the stands varies dramatically.

When it’s a bright sunny day the contrast in brightness is very marked and it makes it difficult for cameras to adjust the metering accordingly.

I was sitting in the Victor Trumper Stand in the SE corner on the 50m arc and when the ball ended up in shadows, it was very hard to see.

It’s not a great ground for watching footy at when using natural light. It’s better at night with the floodlights making for more even lighting conditions.

Ferocity and hardness..........simple as that.We matched'em and beat 'em at there own game. And it was relentless. From start of the game right to the end................oh,i think we are spreading a bit better.Seems to be more options outside.Subtle i know but quite noticeable to me.Just a little tweak by Teague but the difference thats making the difference.......................and Teague speaks well, not in riddles.Like his style.Whether its the honeymoon or not i don't know but if they keep tracking like this he will be hard to overlook.

PS..........i watched the Judd episode and at no stage did he mentioned Teague and training wheels in the same sentence. In fact towards the end of the show Judd categorically stated that didn't class Teague as an inexperienced coach.Classic sensationalist journo's looking for a story. As usual they put two and two together and got five and as result they made Judd look like cow droppings.Faaaaark off drop punts i say.Ignore 'em folks, don't get sucked in by vermin trying to de-stabilise our club as they are pissed off we are unified and at long last getting it together.

I made reference to it in the match day thread, I think FOXFOOTY had subcontracted the camera work to the Rugby League broadcast team, because they were too cheap to fly in AFL specialist, agree with your spin it was very noticeable.

Bondi cannot agree. Many past greats who deserve an award struck in their honour.

I’ve acknowledged Bolts for his fine contribution in the first 1.5 years and the catastrophe that was the next 2 years......nothing more nothing less thank you very much.

How’s the weather? It’s bloody freezing down in ol’ Carlton town.

Does anyone else just want to teach into the telly and smack Nick Blakey around the head? Dunno why, just seems really smackable.
