Genuinely excited for the teams to be announced tonight. We’re getting very close to our best 22 without the obvious long term injuries and the group coming back through the 2s last week. I’d expect expect at least 2 of Cuningham, Curnow, and Kennedy to come in. I think we’re still carrying a couple of players, and improving those positions will make a huge difference

Interesting thought jake. I do too.
If that's right, then why do we carry players?
To get games into them?
To find form?
The spirit they bring the group?
Need for speed?
They are the only fit player who is a 'type' for function required.
The MC Committee can't see it? ...I don't think its the latter.
I think I could put a name for each above mentioned reason.
I'm genuinely excited to see teams tonight.
Will Cuningham and curnow be recalled if fit?
I think it’s simple, out depth is still stretched when we have a bunch of injuries and we don’t really have many other options than to play guys who aren’t really delivering. It’s also a bit to do with how young we are and trying to get games into kids. For example I would say we’ve been carrying O’Brien the last few weeks. Not to say we won’t be a good player, but he’s 19 and would be earning his spot in the 2s if player like Doc, Williamson, Cuningham had been available. Another couple of years and we’ll have the depth, but for now we need close to our best 22 to not have any weak links.
Cuningham is an absolute Monty if fit because he is a like for like direct swap for the weakest of the weak links in Polson. Curnow I suspect you can’t leave out if fit, but all the talls played well so you’d have to swap him for someone like O’Brien. Either that or they’ll use the opportunity to give his knee another week if it’s still a bit sore. Kennedy is the other one who will be right in the mix. Had 13 clearances in the 2s and they might want some help for Cripps
