Thanks BV. Good work there.
Just so, we are vulnerable to sides that run the footy, regardless if the result is an out the back goal or not.

I agree with your final comment about how we went against a highly rated team. I commented elsewhere that they would have been pissed off with the way we dominated the game. That 5 minute burst in the last when Lobbe was in the ruck made the scoreline flatter them.

Well done BV.

It seems for some anything Carlton does is not good enough and wont be what is needed to win games because we dont do what last years Premiers do, or every team above us does.

Bolton has been developing his own game plan. Regardless of what the perception is with regards to its complications to understand/ comprehend, that does not mean Boltons plan is a dud. Some players got it in the past. We should have our own games plan opponents have to worry about. Its obvious to me we have a game lan and players are better at following it thus far....and we do have a long way to go before the kids al peak.

We are a clearance team whether one wants to believe it or not.

We have Patrick Cripps, but more importantly this year we have maturing kids with a desire to do their part with Cripps.
And when we get it into the forward line we press but more importantly we pressure the defenders like the 3 Amigos did 10 years ago, and probably better.

I think we are evolving, and we will still get things wrong, till we are a well oiled machine and any of the culprits who are average by hand and foot or main clanger offenders will see their days limited in the dark Navy Blue as the kids in the Reserves mature, let alone Carlton becoming a destination club for potential superstars of the game.

It seems we are heading in the right direction, and I totally understand why some supporters have been shell shocked over the last 20 years and find our weaknesses, whether we win or lose, difficult to accept.

Great stuff BV. We are heading in the right direction in the seniors and we are developing kids in the reserves. Me Like very much.

We were a lot more competitive because of the way we moved the ball. It wasn't a stagnate, predictable build up and there was no backward kicking that allows the defense and midfield time to get in position. Finally we used the corridor and attacked with purpose. I can't recall the player with ball in hand once look backward for a easy out. The scanned the corridor first before anything else which is extraordinary in itself. Finally stage one complete.
Now work on our forward entries and defense and we should be right.

It's good to read some positive comments about the team, players and coaches. It's not the time of the year to be negative and for us it's historically the only time of the year to be positive (apart from the draft).
Let's all get on board with the possibility of us having a great year and at minimum a productive year in the development of the kids, newly drafted and newly traded players and game plan. There's a lot to look forward to, rather than stripping every game down to each possession and coaching move. Let's have some faith in our club and see what they can produce before we start being "Debbie Downers".

2 weeks to go, carn the Blues!

He was a very average footballer but no one could doubt he utilised every last drop of ability he had.
If he can pass that attitude on to our players, he will be valuable.
There are plenty of sportspeople who have a strong grasp on technique and have a great ability to communicate the skill but they cannot execute it themselves.
Levi Casboult probably understands the intricacies of kicking a football as much as anyone but his motor skills have been established with poor technique that cannot be reversed.

I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt.

On Twitter you would think he'd replaced Bolton as senior coach from the Internet outrage. He's only the next gen academy manager, we weren't gonna get Barassi or Matthews.

really outrage about a person in the coaching group - reckon we have more things to worry about than that -FAZBENDER goes on a public bender(most know what he was on -open secret) and breaks his arm so it hampers his preparation for the season when we had multiple major injuries yet gets off scot free with no punishment and little public backlash yet we worry about picking up Dawson as a coach :screwy:

Dawson played 20 games in 2010, and was named St Kilda's player of the finals series (jointly with Lenny Hayes). As of the end of the 2010 season, Dawson had played in seven finals matches including three grand finals.
Zac Dawson's ability to organise his teammates has been crucial in Ross Lyon's 'defensive chain' at St Kilda and now at Fremantle.[4] In 2013 Dawson played in his 4th losing grand final as Fremantle made it to their first ever premiership decider.
In 2014 Dawson's form peaked in the finals, where he was named Fremantle's Player of the Finals along with Cameron Sutcliffe.

He is still remembered for being monstered by Rocca when he was a skinny 18 yo.

Not the worst AFL player ever. Played in 4 GFs. Seemed to be well regarded internally for his finals play.

A player who extracted the most out of himself and had to deal with being bagged and derided for most of his career. Probably has a lot to pass on to young players other than direct football knowledge.

Sometimes average players make great mentors, because nothing came to them easily.
