Harf won the match putting Moody up forward.

Harris should play up the field more leaving Moody and Vescio our tall targets up forward.

McKay showed a bit of poise at crucial times. Prespakis lifted when required.

Keep working hard on those skills !

We wouldnt be much chop with out Loynes - she just does quality things at the right times - how she wasnt named as one of our best on the weekend bemuses me

Nice to beat Collingwood - at anything

Go the girls!

PS I agree with Harris more up the ground - although her work in the square to allow Vescio to kick the winner was very useful

Please don't tell me that's the sound of a lion roaring after we kick a goal?

So four of the five teams in POOL A may finish the season with more points (and percentage) than both of the top two teams in POOL B, however two of them will miss out on the finals, while the top two teams in POOL B go through.

JOKE!

BTW, well done Blues today.

You can see Harf is getting through to the players. Little things like Vescio appearing in defence at a crucial time to hold our defence, first year players like McKay doing the 1%ers and Harris playing with positivity and freedom.
Well done all. They're building a great spirit.

The fact we finished on top in our pool is great but also an indictment on the pool system at the same time.

We’d be near the bottom in the other pool unfortunately, and given the rule has benefited Carlton I expect da meedya to demand it be changed and AFL folding to make it happen

Don’t think we’ll get close to Adelaide or Norf but it’d make it more satisfying if they could knock them off. Especially given where this team was last year.

Whilst there was an improvement this week regarding timekeeping, it was still ordinary and inconsistent.

You realise there's one more round before finals?

Forget the fact that Carlton might benefit; how about the fact that the competition would benefit with a fairer system?

The AFL make yet another poorly thought through decision and it hasn't directly or indirectly [REDACTED] us over.

Take a win, it seldom happens.

Haven't watched much AFLW but watched most of today's game. Maddy Prespakis is a footballer.

When the AFL realise we are benefiting, they’ll still have time to screw us - retrospectively.

Blues were significantly better than Lions yesterday, our poor finishing made the 16 point margin appear more respectable for the Lions. Agreed, Prespakis is a pure footballer, she may well win our B&F, which would be one helluva effort for an 18 y.o.

We're clearly a step-off the better teams, but the way the game is (i.e. short duration, played with unreliable skills) you never know what might happen on any given day, particularly with a bit more pressure in a final. Hats off to whoever came up with the idea of recruiting the rugby girls (Walker & Dalton). Walker, particularly, was excellent yesterday. The improvement in Harrington, Pound and Gee has gone a long way to making us a very competitive side but we still rely heavily on Davey, Loynes and Downie to run the show with the odd flash of brilliance from Harris and Vescio. Harford must be due a decent amount of credit for much of that.

So, with GWS defeating Geelong tonight, we'd have to drop almost 35 percentage points to miss the finals.

The Lions, needless to say, would be very happy with that result.
