The Practise games continue this week, with a bit more of a serious approach than we did in the trial game against Hawks last week.

This week Carlton play the *Drug cheats:

Ikon Park
Thursday 28 February at 6:40pm
Will be televised on Fox Footy- Foxtel

It is time for Carlton to start getting ready and primed for Round 1 against the Tiggers.

Last week Carlton didn't play any of their bonafide rucks: Kreuzer, Philips or Lobbe.
I'm expecting at least one of them to come in and give a contest in the ruck.
Levi shouldn't be our 1st ruck.

Kreuzer had minor surgery on his knee after a big preseason prior to xmas break.
He's been seen running in January and February, but no contesting work.

Anyone have any news on Kreuzer?

i doubt Marchbank will play in this one given he hasn't done any contesting work anyone has witnessed.
Fasolo has been earmarked to return in the next JLT game against Collingwood, so I guess he's out too.
Darcy Lang is returning from foot surgery last year, and only seen doing laps, laps and more laps.

Docherty Williamson and Pickett are long term injuries.

Usually there's 6 on the bench, and a couple subs. Anyone confirm the make up of the bench?

I'm expecting one of Kreuzer/ Philips to play:

B: Simpson Jones Plowman
HB: Garlett Weitering Newman

C: Walsh SPS OBrien
R: Kreuzer Cripps Fisher

HF: Murphy C.Curnow E.Curnow
F: McGovern McKay Cuningham

I: Setterfield, Dow, Silvagni, Thomas, Kennedy 6th spot

I wonder if Goddard would be given the nod to free up Plowman as a mobile tall.
I've always prefer 2 rucks to avoid disrupting our KPF players incase of injury, so maybe Philips will be experimented with.
If there's an extended bench, I'm sure Bolton will be trialling Gibbons and Cuningham as the small forward.

Ed probably starts in the middle on Shiel and Fisher will add to the midfield group.
5 man forward line.

Really looking forward to this match. Is there an NB's game prior to the seniors?
4 points are not on the line, so expecting a lot of positional experiments to continue.

Go Bluebaggers

35 degrees on Thursday... will be balmy at 6:40pm

Might swing by after work for this one. They usually have a BBQ going at these things?

Yes, good question and one that deserves an answer from the club.

Think I’ll stay home for this one - I tend to lose my shit when we play these turds - prefer I do it in the comfort of my own home.

If I’m going to get arrested for clocking one of those turds - I’d rather do it with four points on the line.

The new off side 6-6-6 rule only applies when the centre bounce occurs.

Stops teams building a defensive wall at the bounce.

All other times there's no offside...so, most of the game there's no 6-6-6.

I guess when there's a bounce, logically the extra back man would run back to wing and the wing man would run forward.

That will be something to look out for during JLT games.

I noticed in the AFLW the game stopped as the umpires were looking around. Someone said they were checking the numbers in the zones.

Interesting times, with the AFL making up rules instead of applying the existing.

I don't mind the concept of 6-6-6 for centre bounce.

I agree supporters will enjoy the decongested free flowing more skillful ball movement into the forward line.
I think it will be a catalyst for more changes too.

Forward line looks a little too heavy.
