I think suggesting a B&F and All Australian “never quite made it” might be gilding the lily a little.

Absolute gun who totally made it but got [REDACTED] over.

Kris Massie, I thought at the time trading him was an odd decision. Still do, particularly given Adelaide gave us a pair of C graders in return. While Massie played pretty well in his time at the Cows.

Probably the first but not the last time we got stooged by Adelaide.

So did I.

He showed some good signs he would.
I don't think he gave it his best shot.
The club wasn't in good shape at the time either.

I was spewing we traded Tge Swedish royal to Crows.

Imo he was played out of position, and gave his all punching above his weight most of the time. :fight:

The Howie Games did a podcast with Jake Edwards, which was definitely worth a listen.

The Howie Games chat was excellent. The lad had some significant mental health concerns. To be honest CFC was not a fun place to be then either.

I liked Rohan Welsh & also the Rhino.

Then if one looks at players from 2005 onwards ...jeez not even many of the ones that “made it” did I like.

Barnaby French maybe...at least he gave it a go.

Played in the 87 Premiership and kicked 3 behinds from memory, would have been a very very good player but did a knee and was never the same.

Had a great pair of hands.

Agree. One of the best marks of that period.

Brent Heaver was never quite the sane after he broke his leg.
Was quite a damaging goal sneak there for a while.
Ronnie DeIulio also started his career like a house on fire in ‘92, and I thought we’d plucked a beauty from obscurity, but he never really reached those dizzy heights again despite remaining at the Club for many more years.

Tony Picket from Launceston could have been something very special.

He was quick. Solid body.

I can't remember him playing a bad game, and don't remember how he finished up at Carlton.

The thing about Ronnie was he followed each good year with a down year and each down year with a good one. That seemed to work in inverse ratio to the teams success - if Ronnie had a good year the team had an ordinary one and vice versa. Probably simply says he was not up to holding a spot in a top side.

Still got to play 100+ games. I think it’s fair to say he did make it.
