Pros:
Charlie
Fish
Harry coming good
Dow and O'Brien both look good
I like the way both SPS and Weitering worked through their form slump and finished the year quite well
DeKoning an exciting prospect

Pro: Simmo's 300th and how the club celebrated the achievement.

Con: Simmo's 300th. Only 20,000 Carlton supporters showed up to the MCG for this. There's either no way we have close to 56,000 members...or most Melbourne-based Carlton supporters are complete morons. I suspect both.

I got to see 50% of our wins.

The pre-season games went well for us.

If this continues into next season then the club's long-term future is in jeopardy. The talk of a future is only sustainable while there is tangible improvement. Next 6 months are vital.

Huge contrast between the first three quarters of the first match of the season, and the rest of the season.

Then again, our poor performances helped me write some 35-words-or-fewer poems, which in turn won me a nice $5000 flight/accommodation prize.

2018 didn’t happen.

Are we understood?

The development of a curnow/McKay forward line.
Fisher's development
Dow development
Cripps getting better again .. this guy could be anything

We still have a long way to go. The next 9 months is going to be critical. We need to get this draft right. We need to get our medical team right. We need to get our coaching staff right.

Simply put we must show massive improvement next year .. and I don't mean just being competitive. Structures, execution, skill level all need to be significantly better next year.

Do I think we can. Yes I do. Recruit well, players fit and able, we will be a vastly different side next year ...

We clearly have a group of raw young talent. Good work by SOS.

The important work starts today for Bolton and Lloyd in resetting the environment they are developed in.

Woeful year. Our new attacking game plan has successfully resulted in us barely getting beyond 50 points and the opposition scoring freely. LOB and Dow look very good. Fish excellent and Harry and CC are the goods. Byrne good when fit. We need a good run with injury, we need Pickett and garlett to develop into an elite small forwards and we need Cunningham to step up. We need about 6 more quality mids and guys who can kick and a game plan that is better than kick sideways, kick backwards stop kick short to a contest miss target, opposition waltz in for another goal.

Or people can choose how to live their lives without being vilified for it

PS. I was there and I still consider myself a complete moron

I accept that people have lives to lead...but if you attended only one game in 2018 it had to be this one. I chose not to go to plenty of games this year...including last night...but to me it showed a complete lack of @#$%&! respect from the majority of Carlton supporters who couldn't drag themselves along to see a Carlton champion play his 300th. 20,000. More should have been made of it. If there was a 'hand in the keys' moment from season 2018, that was it.

not to be pedantic but 26,562 was the official attendance
however, i agree that 40k+ was the pass mark
