Was presented to him by Fev on the Footy Show. Ed was probably thinking how his mob missed an opportunity.

Just before receiving it, Slater remarked that he didn't really follow any team, but was friends with Murphy and Thomas.

Would have been a great inside and outside mid. Speed, tough, agility. able to take knocks. Question about kicking though.

Yes, and we shared a tackling coach or something....
Mind you, it was the Waldron days, so you would have to worry about the influence....

Or perhaps we taught him everything we knew?!

Just watched Bob on Fox Footy with Adam Gilchrist and Gilly, bless him, is a Blues man. Even knocked back being number 1 ticket holder for the Eagles because he is loyal to us. Good on you Gilly!!

My kids have Gilly on the whiteboard, as a Blues man.
Word gets around.

God love him.

We've lost one, Ian Stanley. A damn fine golfer on the Aussie circuit, and keen Blues man.

RIP Stan The Man.

I don't know if it has been mentioned earlier but Peter Thomson was a Carlton tragic.

Sad day. I met him at a Tasmanian Open in the 80's very friendly down to earth and knew he was a Carlton man. Offered me a game of golf with him next time I came to Melbourne but sadly did not manage it.
