We’re more than two years behind Melbourne by virtu of the fact Roos is extremely more experienced than Bolton. Add to that they have Jones and Gawn and Viney and Hogan who as a forward is light years ahead of any we have on our list.

They have no injuries and two plus years of development, drafting and trading to shoot ahead of us.

They were at rock bottom after Neeld, like us after Malthouse, and have done well to bring in Roos and develop a good side and game style.

It just shows where we are in our development. 31 games ago Melbourne lost to Geelong by 111 points.
They had 9 players in their team who were 22 or younger. Names like Petracca, Hogan, Brayshaw, Viney. They didnt wet their pants or go to water. They stayed the course. As should we.
I'd suggest our kids are more talented than theirs. WE just need to get games into them and persist. Yes it's difficult to watch some times but we have no other choice.
