Regardless of the outcome, the fact that we won’t know if the boys are available until a couple of hours before teams are named is farcical. You’ve had a whole bloody week

The AFL hypocrisy needs to be laid bare.

Someone in the media needs to grow the balls to call it out.

Round 6, 2018 five players were charged with making contact with an umpire.

All five received a fine.

That's right, all five did exactly what Ed, Charlie & May did and all five were fined.

None of the five did what Tom Hawkins did, ie. none of them plead guilty at the tribunal.

Each of the five were offered a fine at the first instance by good ol boy Michael Christian.

The five players;

Dustin Martin
Ben Cunnington
Steven Motlop
David Swallow
Matt Crouch

Each were offered a $500 discount if they accepted an early plea to making careless contact with an umpire and pay $1,000.

Where's the confected outrage.

Simply because the Cats were sufficiently naive to cave into head office doesn't mean Blues or others need to be victims of the AFL again making up outcomes on the run.

This is our Line In The Sand game. If the AFL win this appeal then corruption of the tribunal must have occurred.

Take AFL to Supreme Court and do them over well and good....go them for costs and embarrass them. Dennis Denutto could win this with his eyes closed.

They have given us zero for decades and screwed us over while they pander to the expansion teams.

We are Carlton......flower you AFL

I expect the club to very strong in their support for Ed and Charlie.

The AFL don't do us any favours.

Time for them to be called out and tested on their inconsistencies.

Take no prisoners on this one CFC.

For team unity and resilience we must do this, but I'm scared they will cave on the side of "umps are sacrosanct" crap. Yes they are to be protected but not for harmless unintentional softest of soft contact. Hawkins lashed out in anger.....he was guilty as sin so the Cats didn't try anything.

AFL should start to educate their guys to not get within the personal space zone if they can avoid it, and this would have prevented both of the Curnow touches.

I think it would be reasonable for the club to ask that the suspension not be this week but the following, as it has already interrupted the entire week's prep for the game, not knowing wtf is going on and jeopardise the entire team performance.

I ask that somewhat hopefully, given they sat up till 0200 the night before the draft to make sure we had no hope of getting Godard and Wells.

As an aside, does anybody here follow Robbo and have they had any contact with him about this debacle?

OR is on the ball as usual

Also in Round 5 - Hawk James Cousins was offered a $1000 fine for careless conduct on umpire Jeff Dalgliesh.

Yes he is. I hope he or some brave supporter will ring the 'whately' show and report these facts.

Send in the screen grabs doing the rounds of players touching umpires who didn't even come under scrutiny.

The AFL tribunal is a body appointed by the AFL to adjudicate on serious reportable offences.

Steve Shocking this week appealed one of their decisions on the basis that they came to a decision that was "not reasonable" given the evidence.
If he actually believes that is true, then the tribunal members must be dismissed immediately. If they are make decisions that no reasonable person would make, that makes their positions untenable.
