Even the most cynical of us would find it hard to miss the genuine passion this bloke has.

Yep, all the Chicken Littles in TC should watch that.

Yep well done, he realized his new game plan wasn't working and he changed it.
Automatically the players took to it and they played good footy.
The defenders weren't guarding space and didn't look confused.
The mids had some belief that they did have an option further up ground and there were focal points and links to scoring options.

And the youngest team we've ever put on the field.
A bit of perspective please.

Ahhhh, at an average age of 24 and 9 months, not even close. The R1 team was younger.

Most inexperienced team we have fielded this year. By quite a way. Last week was the second least experienced team once Murphy withdrew but yesterday’s side was even more inexperienced by 122 games. Only two 200+ players and only five 100+ all up. That’s way down on what most teams are putting out there.

Bolton harped on about getting games into the players as if it will automatically make them better.
How about giving me 100 games and see how I go.

This rebuild will be a disaster if they have it wrong. I am not convinced that bottoming out for draft picks is the best way to go

I think Bolton is right, but it doesn't explain dropping Cunningham. Based on his form, and that of others selected in the team last night, Cunningham should've played.

My concern is that Bolton is another Ratten insofar as his driver is on stats and ideology rather than playing the game on its merits.

Some experience is more equal than others?

Now at 100 games
Go compare his stats for the first 20 then next 20
Nothing changes.
Getting games into players does always lead to them becoming a better player.
Some of these kids might not get better

A single player - will depend on the player.

A team - will get better if it has the basis of talent

Dow
O'Brien
Curnow
Fisher
Marchbank
Mckay
Ploughman
SPS
Cunningham
Williamson
Mcreadie
Cripps
Garlett
Pickett
SOS
LeBois

Collectively will get better - all of them? No but there is a lot of talent there, so enough, more than enough.
I feel this is the difference from the time we brought Judd in. We actually didn't have the spread, we acted too soon and wasted a perfect chance to build because we were impatient. (Also recruitment was shambolic - Maclean...)

This time we are trying to select a real spread of talent, of depth and they will need to play and grow

and they need a better captain

and a few more peices - but overall I think this time is better than under Ratts or the disaster that was Malthouse. Under Ratts we moved too quickly - The whole club. Then MM and now we understand...I am gratful for that - bit like once you recover from an illness and develop immunity, MM gave us the illness we needed.

Some things just take time but if you get them right, then for a long time things won't take so much time. That is the lesson i feel we have finally learnt.

Case in point...

Levi is much better now than he was in games 1-20

On what basis
Still averages 10 disposals
Still average 2 frees against
Still averages 1.3 goals a game
Still averages 0.0000001 pressure acts per game
Still averages 0.3 goal assist per game

Oh thats right he kicks straight now or does he

Still never kicked more than 4 goals in a game

I'm now totally lost on what the argument is anymore.

How about I just narrow it down to "winning = good" and "losing = bad"?
