New List Management & Recruiting Sponsor: Priority Care
Quote:
WITH the official NAB AFL Trade Period beginning today, Priority Care has signed on as the official partner of Carlton’s list management and recruiting team.

The company’s logo will feature on the recruiters’ apparel for the next 12 months, kicking off right before their busiest time of year.

Carlton’s GM of List Management and Strategy Stephen Silvagni said he’s delighted Priority Care will be supporting him and his team.

“We’re really pleased to partner with Priority Care,” Silvagni said.

“It’s great to have another brand show its support for Carlton as we enter what will be an exciting trade and draft period where we will look to welcome a number of new players to the Blues for 2018 and beyond.”

Promising on multiple fronts. Seems like SOS is confident we are going to land more than one player!

Gibbs for two picks in *next* years' first round would do nicely, and precedent is set with Lever. Added to whatever pick we end up with (say, top 5-8), that'll give us 3 in next years' superdraft - much like we had when we took Weiters, McKay and C Curnow.

On top of this, bringing in Kennedy for next years' second round and retaining this years' pick 3 for another gun midfielder will do us nicely. I think we should pass on Schache.

How do we accumulate enough points for BSOS next year?

I reckon we could do worse than look at those two blokes from Norf as DFA's. Mullett has had really good patches and would probably get a gig in our backline for the 14 games a year the Irishman is injured. Gibson at the very least would give us depth and would probably win the Liston. VFL depth is important so your young up and comers aren't getting creamed every week. Great trainer too and appears a pretty solid citizen.

Why would we need points for BSOS? From what I am hearing he's shown bugger all at school level.

Yep, BSOS is a player weighed down by family name expectation...and an iron lung

Tim Watson saying we're no longer a Destination Club.

He might be right - but just cause i hate him I now wants us to get Stringer, Schace, Kennedy and Saad.

And because a few B graders nominate *, they're now a destination club?

He's just one of a long line of flogs to don the sash.

It is the worst rating radio show vis a vis the amount they are paying their presenters what would you expect - trying to beat up controversy to try to garner ratings and justify pay packets

both talk crap - nothing to see here a bit like when the Federal Police raided Lyons home for tax evasion

Watson horribly compromised over Essendon* drug cheating -Jobe should keep Brownlow - because he should keep his brownlow - a very erudite argument

You're kidding yourself. Gibbs for 2 picks in next years first round? Not even close.

Did laugh at that too

Some people are going to be in for a shock if Gibbs does end up getting traded.

How about :-

Gibbs for 10 and crows 2018 second rounder
10 and 38 to Gold coast for 3 second rounders
Use 1 for Kennedy, 1 for SChache
use the other with 3 for picks 7 and 8
Use one of those picks to try for Scully or take them to the draft.

Tim Watson is right. We aren’t a destination club YET. We are 2 years away from being one simply because we are 2 or 3+ years away from playing finals. So trying to lure a 24+ Gun player to our club will be a struggle as they know they won’t be playing finals for sometime.

The Bombers and Melbourne are destination clubs because they are probably the two
Most exciting teams. I’d even grow the lions I to the mix.

Long gone are the days luring a player to our club because we are Carlton.

The whole concept of "destination club" strikes me as a bit odd. The "destination club" is the one you sign the contract with. I guarantee if we started offering some of these average blokes massive contracts they'll be lining up, (Dale Thomas anyone?).

FWIW I like the way we're going about things at the moment. Not too eager.
