Caught Ross Lyon on radio this morning. Stephen Hill likely to play according to him.

Boekhurst's field kicking was the best I had seen from him. Set up 3 goals, 50 m bullets. Cunningham played well and is showing bursts from congestion. Jones is also playing really good footy off the backline as well as Pickett yesterday took a step forward

If Liam Jones had been recruited this year as a backman we'd be howling for him to get selected.

I've watched every game and he's been smashing the @#$%&! out of it.

Jones to replace White? Similar bodied players, and while I think White cops it too much from many on TC, Jones' form warrants the thought.

We lost to St Kilda because we let Billings off the leash. We do the same with Hill and we will get flogged.
Billings got off the leash because we had no one to run with him.
Now I am all for development and getting games into players but what this side needs to take itself to the next level is to learn when the game is there to be won you win it.
Billings should have been shut down and the man for that job was dropped despite having 12 possessions and 9 tackles the week before. Kerridge should have played instead of Fisher.
Kerridge plays we win.
I think winning is far more important for team development than game time into Zac.
You can develop youngsters in 2 to 3 game blocks but not all at once.
Our youth struggled on the weekend and yet we still got close.
Saints are a better side than Freo .This is a winnable game but Bolton and MC need to learn as well

Billings is too quick for someone like Kerridge.

While Byrne is out there aren't many options besides Docherty/Simpson and you want them freed up not playing a lockdown role.

Probably highlights a lack of quality small defenders on the list.

Carlton won't be the last team that Billings torches.

Kerridge is not a lockdown player. Yes he has s tank but you need more than that to be a successful runwith/lockdown. His best football is when he is not manned up but then he butchers it. Happened many times again yesterday

OUT: Wietering (rested)
IN: Jacksch

And I'd take Pickett, Cunningham and Boekhorst to WA for cover.

SPS!

Jaksch deserves to come in on the back of 5goals as we lack tall forward options but the carry on about him playing this year has been based mainly from practise match form including dominating 17yr olds!! The fact is he needs to take any chance he gets as if your unsure why he hasn't got a chance in the seniors yet watch a replay of his only game last year and look at the total non physical competiveness of his game!!

Boakhurst is probably in the same boat if he gets a game.

Jakesch has been either the best players or goal kicking for all 5 games this year. Playing on 17 year olds is gardage. You might like to go to the games and watch him. He is hitting contests hard and has developed a bigger motor. If we believe on form as s precursor to playing then he should be given a recall

Talking about the AFL Academy game against Northern so its not rubbish he played against 17yr olds what don't you understand?? Jaksch has been in the best once fact!! Yes he might be having a solid and kicked some goals once again people seem to be including his practice match form including a game against 17yr olds!!
I hope he gets a game so we finally will find out if he will make it!!

Going to the game for the first time for a few years. Taking my Son who is nominally a Suns supporter (first Auskick jumper). Carlton now his second team and I'm sure that will change :)

Looking forward to seeing the kids play in the flesh...

I think Jones will get a run. As somebody said earlier Bolts is about rewarding form but more importantly CONSISTANT form. That's what Jones has shown so I think he will be rewarded soon. It's also the converse reason why Cunners hasn't played yet. He's had good games and he's had quiet games.

Liam against Sandi at the centre bounce would be interesting but body on body around the ground stoppages would be impossible for Jones. Cassbolts stronger frame has a better chance around he ground and there is no way on this earth he should be dropped.

Drop White - drop a bloke in the best form of his career at a time our backline is widely lauded as being awesome so far this year.....just to make way for KJ?
Weitering down back - ditch what the MC and Bolts have been trying to do so far this season with Wietering's long term development as a swingman.....just to make room for KJ?
Rowe to second ruck - so take away the great second ruck we already have AND after whipping boy Rowe has cemented his spot in the backline let's move him......just so you can make way for KJ?

And people wonder why people call the KJ thing an obsession......

Ps: KJ is playing good footy and I think he deserves a chance soon.....just not at the expense of our team structure

We really should be a chance to beat Freo if we get our selections and match-ups right.

Not sure that we should be making too many changes though.

Jaksch for a rested Weitering sounds plausible, but whether the latter needs a rest or not - only the MC knows.

If the recent NB's games are anything to go by, Boekhorst must be very close to a chance. If so, Fisher or Thomas might be the one to make way this week. And really no one played badly enough against the Saints to deserve outright to be dropped.

I don't subscribe to the view that any players' papers have been stamped at this stage of the year.

It is great that even Liam Jones who has been a whipping boy for many of us has re-discovered some of his innate talent to the extent that he is not the automatic delist that he has seemed to be for so long.

What great signs for the club.
