Not sure how many people have seen this page. Fairly descriptive and paints Carlton as being a winner in trade week.

So not written by an AFL Good Ole Boy then.

It is except it states we traded our 2017 2nd rounder to Hawks where we actually traded GWS 2017 2nd rounder

Carlton fan-favourite Dennis Armfield will run out in the navy blue next season after agreeing to a new one-year deal.

The 29-year-old will now remain at the Blues until at least the end of 2017.

Continuing his playing career, Armfield has also agreed to a part-time coaching role at the Club as a specialist skills coach for Carlton’s women’s team.

Armfield will work alongside senior women’s coach Damien Keeping and the Club’s assistant coaches in the one-day-a-week role.

Ahead of his ninth pre-season campaign, Armfield said he was thrilled to have locked in a new contract with the Blues.

“Carlton means so much to me, I’ve been here for nearly ten years and there is a really good feeling at the Club. We’re a developing side, and I am passionate about teaching our younger players and hopefully having a positive influence on them,” Armfield said.

“The body is feeling good and I still feel I have a fair bit to offer in terms of my playing career, so I am thankful the Club has given me this opportunity to go around again.

“To also explore my passion for coaching through a part-time role with our women’s team is a terrific opportunity – I think these talented female footballers have so much to offer and I can’t wait to play a small role in this exciting new competition.”

What's a Premiership got to do with anything?

Adds culture, experience and work ethic. A kid can take his spot through performance.

Agree and we have turned over 28 list spots in 2 years, so a one year deal for an experienced, hardened body isn't a bad move.

:garthp:

How do you define which players add to a premiership?

Does Simmo?

If we don't pick a kid at 81 then we've blown our chance at a flag

Not taking a Kids spot rather setting the Kids a bar for work ethic, basically a mentor role.

Any kids that are performing better than Dennis will take his spot much like this year.

He adds toward a premiership by being a mentor and coach some of our kids coming through to fast track their development

Good summary Steve - agree entirely - with very young list now a couple of older mentors with good work ethic - adds to mix - particularly where he gets one year and if he doesn't perform a young one takes his spot

dennis is a good bloke but a below average player with lots of bluster

i cant see how any player on our list (bar a few) that delivered the wooden spoon in 2015 should still be at princes park...culture of mediocrity
