Incorrect. Adelaide thought they could bend us over and get Gibbs for very little.

Same as they didn't rate him highly enough

Bryne has been upgraded to the senior list and Sheehan has been delisted but will be re-rookied.

Glad we haven't given up on Gus.

Glad we have shown faith in them both - this explains our decision to cash in on Zac Touhy's value.

But it's a gamble as Byrne won't get back on the park till well into tha back part of next season and won't really come back to his best till 2018 and Sheahan hasn't played since 2014.

Hope he has learned to bounce the ball since then!

Worth a look, good size, can run and also can play back. Not sure what his best position is but he would give us some options.

The question is how many Silvagni wants to take at the draft. Ten out, 4 in, Byrne upgraded leads 5 spots. Given the nature of the pick swap wth Hawthorn, it would suggest that they had intended to take a fair few picks on draft day. To bring in a DFA would mean only 4 picks.

We only had 39 primary listed players last year when we could have had 40 so 10 out 4 in + Byrne leaves 6 spots (5 picks 1 DFA.

Does the draft run that deep that your 4th or 5th pick is going to be as good (?) as a Richards, O'Shea or Barlow? I'm not sure.

I would love Barlow as I think we need some experience around the ball although I think Sydney might pinch him as a replacement to Mitchell and he seems their type of player. With Palmer coming in we might not look at him.

Richards seems the best fit for us in my opinion, O'Shea could get a look but I think Richards might be the better fit. Can clubs pick only 1 DFA?

I think you can take as many DFA's as you have room for, don't think there's any limit.

Kids, Kids, Kids all reports are that this draft runs deep. Lets draft and develop our own stars not throw a lifeline/retirement package at someone else's offcuts. I dont see any DFA's that leap out as must-gets, rather take a chance on some talented kids!

I don't mind if we take 1 or 2 DFAs. But I do agree that we want to take quite a few picks in the draft, so that would mean delisting those who are seen to be list-fillers. Other than good will, can't see why SOS would have done that deal with Hawthorn to get us back into the middle and end of the draft (if he didn't want to draft 5-6 kids).

I agree. It's exciting to see OUR kids develop. Though if the opportunity is there to take a DFA, then grab it and run. Afterall, this is LIST MANAGEMENT folks!

Not sure how many people have seen this page. Fairly descriptive and paints Carlton as being a winner in trade week.
