If it's any consolation, that would have been the highlight for me too.

Terrible game.

Forward line entries other than Q1 were very poor. DEcision making from guys with the ball at 50-100m out tended to involve the long kick to 6-8 players whereas in Q1 we were ablt to get it out he back or fast break them.

To me the Pies played a very solid flood type defence and were better at converting.

Casboult probably had 4 kicks I50 and each went nowhere or were picked off; telling me a) we were searching for pinpoint options that weren't there and b) we need another guy who can take a contested mark I50.

The opposition are now marking Docherty and Gibbs closely. Cripps isn't able to play other roles so our mid group is under a lot of pressure.

I liked Lamb replacing Byrne in defence - he added a bit I thought.

Alas the team all round isn't good enough.

It's time for a more dramatic set of changes. Byrne out - injured, Everitt out - terrible, maybe Kreuzer and White. In - Gowers to debut for Byrne and Jacksch at leas for that second option. Too many similar types on the half forward line.

We have got to get these Footscray hacks out of our club...

Just never looked like we were setting up a goal. Relied on Coll to make mistakes for us to run the ball I50.

Good games from Simpson & Docherty & a nice debut from Silvagni. Hardly realised Casboult & Everitt were even playing in the first half.

& apart from whenever SOS was involved, can't recall a more subdued Carlton Collingwood crowd...understandably!

Gibbs back to his usual best last night

Kruezer fades out again as usual

Pies are not that good but we are worse

No midfield drive..

Slow ineffective backline

No forward presence

12 to 15 new players needed imo

Nothing in the magoos from my mail

Magoos have not been an engine room for development for years in my view

This season could fall away badly I suspect

Terrible game.....by both teams. Really was a genuine bottom six clash.

We have lost our mojo in most areas. Intensity and run are gone ( no Murphy and Armfield doesn't help there ) and we have lost the daring and play on approach. Maybe it's just what happens when a team of mainly C graders plays above itself for a while.....inevitably the team reverts to its true level.

Drop Everitt and bring in Jaksch. A message must be sent that his efforts of recent weeks are not acceptable. Levi has really dropped off too but you can't drop them both yet.

Really need to draft quality mids this year, so the lower we finish now the better. Hope we can add Mitchell from Syd too ?

Hopefully Harry is the answer to what we've lacked for soooo long, a key forward. And if Jack and Charlie develop as expected our Fwd line should be ok.

Interesting times ahead.

Yep, the big concern is that's a month of very ordinary football. Not like it was a once off bad performance.

Any gains and progress we may have made are vast evaporating.

Most rebuilds start with defence but you won't win any games scoring 45 points. We are second worst in the league for scoring I believe.

Can't see another win for a while, sadly.

Aweful game , but playing like we all expected we would at the start of the year. We all know we have no midfield , not sure why every one is surprised. With Murphy out, 4 players just jump on Cripps , knowing Gibbs can be tagged out . Leaves make shift mids which doesn't work. Backline was great I thought . Midfield was poor, delivery into the forward line was very poor, which made the forwards look bad. I thought Walker worked really hard , but they always kicked it to his wrong side , and he had to bottom back all the time . How many times did they kick it over Sos head. White lead hard to no avail.

That's ok. We really need fo finish bottom 4. Season was more about...dare i say it....resetting, regaining some respect, playing kids and winning a few games. No point finishing 10th.

The intensity was there from most players

Defensively we were fine

Simply not enough skill and class within the team

We all know this

The game just re-emphasized our lack of depth. Without Murphy the midfield is unbalanced and without Armfield we lack genuine speed. We can't rely on Sumner to be our only forward applying pressure

Terrible game

Few positives apart from SOJ

Thought Simpson Plowman Cripps Gibbs wright Byrne Thomas were ok otherwise very disappointing

Kicking into forward line atrocious
Not moving forward but chipping sideways and backwards without any purpose

Players in a position to kick goals want to hand it off not take responsibility
Grundy murdered Ruckmen

Everett Levi White kreuzer absolutely terrible
Really disappointing about Byrne

More young talent needed
