CARLTON and Port Adelaide are both 4-4 after eight rounds but one team in flying and the other is floundering.

The Power was supposed to re-emerge as a premiership contender in 2016 but it’s the Blues — second favourite for the wooden spoon before the start of the season — who look closer to playing finals, and the reason behind their success will be hard to believe.

Carlton is the best kicking team in the competition according to Champion Data’s kick rating, while Port Adelaide is ranked 16th.

The kick rating takes into account degree of difficulty, pressure and intended target.

Must be doubling players' compulsory hours at the club and changing how we integrate general skills into our training.

Now we just need to figure out some good goal kicking drills, if the open sessions are any guide.

For that round? I find this hard to believe even though I've noticed it's improved out of sight

Nope. I was at the Port end in a basic Carlton hoodie and a really really daggy carlton beanie with ear warmers....but its my favourite.

This was me a couple of years back on the telly giving Milne a bit of lip.....haha. Not the best angle :)

What may have been if we went for Barker on a permanent basis instead of Bolton?

From what I recall, it was neck and neck between them? I wonder how much influence Ange had on the final decision, being a man manager like Bolts is.

In terms of pure match day coaching I think their both good.

Bolts is better with being able to galvanize the whole place and create a positive working environment which is massively important
