I reckon we'll win by 12 points.

How many games has Casboult played in defence?

All of them, in defence of the idea that he is an AFL footballer; amiright

So what. Where a helmut! Only a flesh wound. Come back and fight like a man. ;)
Walker back in would be great.
Try Weitering forward. Put Cas. Back..way back somewhere..no Jones!!!!! Ever!!!!!! Rowe can f. O. Too.
I like Dylan..he runs faster than his brain though. Liked plowman and sumner too.

I was there to watch Jones on Friday. He looks a completely different player. We see a player now reading the play, leading to the right spots, using his body well to take very strong one-on-one marks, kicked beautifully at goals and his 2nd efforts contributed another 2-3 goals. It was a physically strong, powerful perfomance. That is one player the coaching staff have done an outstanding job with over summer. He played well in the lead-up matches, kicked 3 last week and 5 Friday. I was like you until Friday, never again, and still would've been if I didn't see the game. After that I'm now very happy to reward him and the work he has obviously put in. Interesting to see how he goes forward in the seniors with shit delivery. He might beg to stay in the NBs....lol. Not a great place to be being a key forward at Carlton.

I agree with Casboult. I'd either ruck Casboult or play him at CHB in place of Rowe. Somewhere well away from goal...lol. Nothing at all wrong with how he is playing generally, just his kicking at goal.

So did he continuously go to his knees? Seems to be one of biggest problems with Jones when he does go near the ball.
I hope the coaches tell him there is a sniper in the stands lined up on his head ....his knees touch the gro u nd and the sniper has orders to fire....

Do we have any young tall defender? cos ANYONE is better than Rowe at the moment, so might as well just play a kid.

My NB player neighbour made special mention of JG-M. Said he's stood out, talented, and has a bit of mongrel in him. Reckons he'll get a game in the ones sooner rather than later

Not at all. It was strong performance. It was a shock to see. He just kept taking one on one contested marks. Think he took 6 alone in the 2nd qtr. Challenge will be at AFL level with the worst delivery imaginable. Delivery on Friday was efficient, quick and direct. He'll get nothing like that with Carlton.

None. Give him a crack. Worst he can do is fk up. Then he can swap ends with Jaksch. Many a player has made the transition. That way he gets to use his marking abilities without having to kick at goal...lol.

Couldn't be any worse than Rowe.

Ah Nope
We have 4 games coming up against 4 teams out of form.
We will play them back into form
We don't know how to win and we don't expect to win.
Therefore we can't win.
Bolton has a monumental task in front of him.
Team structure, game plans , fitness levels , procedures etc are all easy to teach.
Teaching them how to win and how to want to win is a hell of a lot harder.
If Bolton can pull that off and get them winning he will be a master coach.
If he can't he will be Mark Neeld

Still feel we are on the right track - definitely better than last year but suspect this will be the way of the season.
I tend to agree with sinners that we will meet the Freo of last year and get killed but still looking forward to seeing our development. Just hope our young guns are still positive about the future by the end of the year.

No I'm not
I can see a vast improvement in playing the modern game.
For once they all appear to know what they are doing.
They just don't know how to win.
You just know when the game is there to be won and we have the chance to grab the game and run with it.
They will miss a sitter , drop a mark or turn it over then in the space of 3 to 4 minutes the game is lost

Yep - I'm with SB on this. Mental shift is extremely difficult to change. We've lost a lot of ground.
Not only do we not know how to win but don't really hurt by losing and find all kinds of positives to make us feel better.
Club is living a lie or in a dream, not sure which it is just yet and for mine is in some serious dangerous territory.
It's been 20 years and 4 rebuilds, sorry 'resets'! 20 YEARS - that is frightening!!!!

Thanks jim
Sill worried about the reality of not getting good delivery and not taking a mark...does he go to ground and leave us one short?

I guess we'll see
