Graham is much like Brock, one pacer who can find the ball but doesn't really hurt or pressure the opposition.

Geez Rexy I'm a bit with you on Graham. He's a footballer....classy at times....one paced...and not yet Mitchell's level.

I like Buckley's pace too....prefer him running ball out of defence where his pace is on show.

Would love to see Byrno play too....!
Give Thomas a chance to redeem himself after the embarrassment of last NAB game and previous 2 years.
He may come good.

KJ for casboult , pls make it happen

They must play together IMO

Disagree. I have seen comments in this forum about him adding structure to our foward line. If anything he breaks down our structures. Have a look at the amount of times we had to bomb it in. He doesn't lead and expects to take the big pack mark every time, which he may take once every 15 times if u are lucky. Plonking himself where he does also takes the space away from others to lead. Did I mention that he is useless when the ball hits the ground? And he doesn't kick goals? But I forgot there is time on his side he is still only young 27, so plenty of time to develop. What makes me laugh is some supporters got sucked in the we were offered a 1st, 2nd or even a 3rd pick for him, the truth is the other clubs laughed in our face. So just remind me what value he adds ?
Adds more than you do as a poster. Last year he rucked pretty well and hit the scoreboard very regularly. Clubs were very interested, SOS said the himself on SEN at trade time. I'll take his word over someone with an obvious agenda. People with agendas you can't take seriously on a particular subject. Played well last year hence the interest.

Outside of his goal kicking, he took marks, got touches and generally played pretty well. His kicking at goal brought that down unfortunately. Goalkicking could've made it a really good game. To have a shot for goal you have to get it first. He did that whereas other may be be able to. He's a shit kick but if he keeps grabbing them he'll kick a few. Need the 2 key forward so one doesn't take the heat of the defence. If it's either Jaksch or Casboult it'll be alot harder work for that reason. I assume you can grasp that.

Mate granted that everyone is entitled to an opinion. U are entitled to urs as I am to mine. I have been around footy at the highest level for a while and I'm telling u what I see. How much longer are u waiting for him to make it? He is 27. Again just watch closely and u can see he is a liability, don't get blinded by the one big mark every game. He is paid to hit the scoreboard and he doesn't even do that, so again explain to me where he adds value. He has had is time. Play KJ and Gorridge and see what they offer.

I agree.

Mick Nolan use to mark a few too.
At Carlton in the 70's, 80's and 90's if you couldn't kick, you were a liability and wouldn't get a game.
There was competition for spots.

Problem at Carlton there's no competition for Casboults spot. I think he wastes opportunities. The picture tells the story.

As I mentioned in the match thread, Jammo, Simmo, Walker and Rowe looked like old men on Thursday night.
White hasn't matured as a player.
Everitt listens for foot steps.

We have a lot of gaps.
I like the strong bodies in the midfield and feel we should be relentless on that front against the Swans.

Have to pay more attention to Buddy. Who goes on him? Everitt? A combo of Jammo and Rowe.
None are solutions, so we have to minimise supply.

Will be tough against Sydney. They built their success on accountability, pressure and hard two way running. Gibbs, Murph and Kerridge won't get the freedom they had Thursday.

Plus they have far more quality than the Tigers. They are terrific in close and move the ball quickly and have been one of the fittest teams for a long time now.

Playing on the smaller Etihad ground will mean more pressure on our kicks and more chance for intercepts/turnovers .

But looking forward to the effort. looks like Daisy is a cert but I hope he also brings in a new face as well.

Buckley. 88% game time.
3 possessions. 3 clangers including 2 undisciplined frees for late tackles and a 50 metre penalty. How about we make him earn a spot?
He's not close at the moment IMO.
Byrne is the far superior option as the running defender. He'll make mistakes because he takes the game on like Yarran. The difference is he's disciplined and courageous. He should have played Thursday night and he has forced his way into the side through his VFL showing. Bucks has forced his way out IMO.
Omitting Buckley will also allow our mids to rest deeper forward instead of the wing.

I think most people like Buckley but Byrne, if he doesn't already, will have him covered in most aspects of the game very soon.

Still remember that footage of Byrne playing in the forward line in his first ever game for the dev team. Took contested marks, burnt players off and kicked goals.

I'd expect Etihad will suit our fast paced game better. The slightly smaller area will also make our press more effective. I'd expect Etihad to be a bit of a fortress for us this year.

Certainly makes the press easier.

Hope you're right about the fortress. Still see Sydney as a bit too much for us at this stage . Around 5 goals I think .

No but really good at centre clearances. Let's just pick quick players?

And only the second player in the #42 jumper to get there.

I knew we'd see it. Wasn't sure we'd see it within an hour.

I think he's shown up 85% of our list..not just White

Other than his kicking for goal ... I thought Casboult played pretty well. Maybe its just my rose coloured glasses. Also ... the second half of last year his kicking for goal was good. I don't see any point in dropping him when other players made bad mistakes as well. If you want to condemn Casboult for his mistakes you have to first consider those who were worse. In my eyes White was terrible with both his skills and his decision making. I would definitely bring Byrne in for White.

As much as I would like to see Buckley in the side ... he was very poor and should be replaced with Daisy.

Got to say I am not a big fan of Phillips ... he was ok ... borderline as to whether we swap him for Gorringe or Jacksch (Levi to help Kreuz).

Jamo is at an all time low ... not sure we can afford to keep carrying him and Rowe. At the moment Rowe is marginally better which does not say a lot for Jamo.

So:

Out: White Buckley Jamison
In: Byrne Daisy Jacksch

On Notice: Phillips Rowe

I didn't realise that, will get his name on the locker with the great Robert Walls.
