I am really encouraged to see an immediate improvement under Bolton. We are finally trying to play modern day football after 3 years of backward planning and backward coaching.

But ... thats not all.

Not only have we picked up a young talented footballer who can step straight into the side, there is real improvement in the playing group. Four player have stood out over the pre-season.

Weitering - talented, calm and great reader of the play.
Kerridge - fantastic pickup ... fits comfortably into our midfield and a goal kicker.
Graham - improved version in 2016 ... must be in the best 22.
Boekhorst - just keeps getting better ... skilled and speedy (fantastic game last night).

I reckon these 4 alone make up for the loss of Henderson, Bell, Menzel and Yarran.

Roll on 2016.

I have to say that this seems to be a much happier group of players ... and Bolton's message of being united is really starting to show.

In his post match interview, Nick Graham talks about being Bound by Blue. I just get the feeling for the first time in 3 years, the players believe they are on a mission.

Good, positive, thread.

Note on the losses; most had appalling 2015s. They might be good for new teams but they were rubbish in 2015. Hendo in particular.

YUP! Agreed

Loved Hendo and Menzel, but they just looked like they didn't give a shit last year and Yarran didn't want to be here anyway so glad to see the back of them really.

The other thing I noticed is that players are getting in to the face of the opposition if they missed a goal, dropped a mark or made a mistake. Finally a bit of controlled aggression and mind games.

....it's all about 'head down' work ethic.. ....for too long, too much work on field has been left to too few.. ..and those players have suffered for it..

bring my smelling salts
think I'm gonna faint!

almost totally agree
it's just I will really miss Bell, and despite the opinions of nck etc, think Hendo would have been 1st rate if he'd never endured MM.

Haha ...

I have always been positive about the Blues ... except when they were being coached by the coach whose name shall not be mentioned.

At last there are some things to get really excited about ... I'm excited!

We will do better than most of he pundits think this year
We have recruited well
Interesting to see what Plowman and Sumner bring to the table when they are ready
Our midfield depth is a lot better
Kreuzer will be excellent around the ground if he stays fit and he is due for a change of luck
Our defence lacks that guy who can play on the monsters but other than that is good
Our forward line is a problem but we still be far more competitive than last year
Finally we have a coach that is right for now and the future. Trust me on this one:Bolton will be our best recruit.
Let's hope he drops Gibbs and Thomas if both serve up the crap they dished out Friday night.
At least Thomas didn't go into hiding. His skills have always been crap.Extremley overrated player.
Gibbs is pathetic and has gone back to his pathetic ways since getting his 5 year deal.
He has never been dropped. About time if he continues to sleep with the light on.
Would be the best thing to happen for him and the club

Improvements or not will be obvious round 12 or so
