Weitering Jaksch Sheehan
Buckley Rowe Plowman
Docherty Cripps Boekhorst
Everitt Casboult Cuningham
Wright Gorringe CCurnow
Phillips Kerridge Thomas
Smith Graham Byrne Gallucci Lamb Whiley

Murphy, Simpson, Jamison, Tuohy, Kreuzer, Walker and Gibbs can all rest up.
Thomas can earn he's $700k.
Not sure Plowman will be fit enough, White comes in if that's the case..
Bring on Thursday

Don't think either of the Irish boys are fit enough either?

Understand that you're resting some senior names there, but no 2nd ruck with the extended bench?

Also zero love for McKay, Sheehan and Charlie, especially with how short the forward line is and how tall the defence is.

Could add Gorringe on extended bench.

I don't expect to see McKay at all this year.

I thought Sheehan was injured.

Could name Charlie Curnow on the bench. Not sure how he increases the forward line height though?

Releases Thomas into the middle. White isn't mobile enough as a medium defender to play in such a tall defence, no matter how much it'd be a great news story.

Yeah no need to be condescending about a practice team selection.

Charlie Curnow would be what 5cm taller than Daisy?

Don't need to even play White drop Tuohy back put Lamb on the wing. Plenty of subs.

Wasn't trying to be condescending?

Charlie's about 8-10 cms taller depending on who you talk to. Both have long arms for their height and apparently Charlie has quite the leap on him too. McKay in a similar boat; I expect both to play 6-10 games this year.

It sounds like Sheehan and Byrne will be available, if not week 1 then week 2.

It's been a long time since we last played.
This is my favourite week of the year, the week leading up to the first pre-season game.

Please no serious injuries.

Puleeease.

So Curnow might be 6"4 or 5?

Haven't posted for years and respect you but Thomas isn't a mid. His best work was as a high half forward whose defensive work and work ethic realy exposes people. Brief spells yes but if we're to see his best it won't be there.

Would agree with you there, but with Boekhorst listed on the other flank, you'd want Thomas alternating off wing and/or HB with someone else, maybe Simpson or Buckley.

Need someone who can consistently win a 1v1 marking contest with their opponent to play a more forward-centric role, and I don't think Thomas' ankle is up for his high-flying antics of old at present.

I believe he was over the ankle injury that hampered his last couple of years at Collingwood and first year at Carlton. He had a strong preseason last year and it was a shoulder injury that was the only physical problem with his body last year...and now.

He also played his best footy as a hard running (both ways) wingman, aho provided a real head ache when swung forward.

I'm just not sold on the idea he's going to get off the ground like he did when he was 22; he'll be more than handy at ground level.

Dale is the sort of player who backs himself, for good or bad, to do the spectacular.
He will fly and might soar or crash.
The good thing is he is the type of player who knows when something extraordinary is needed.
Got a lot of time for Dale personally.
Look I am sure we'd all take extra dough if it were given to us.

Is that the squad for the match or the comp?

We already know Murphy isn't playing in this game.
