Will he still be up for trade if he kicks 50 goals in 2016?

Going by our recent history of trading away our leading goal kicker. If he kicks 50
He is gone

Not if Walker kicks 52.

Players who kick goals next year obviously want out

The players who want to stick around for the long haul will avoid scoring at all costs

Just had a little look at our potential round 1 side. I think something really important is having flexibility, particularly having lots of blokes who can run through the midfield, ruck or wing. The brackets indicate where blokes can play as well as the position they're put it in.

I'd have KJ forward and rearrange so Dennis is an EMG.

Take 15,
Simpson Jamison Weitering
Tuohy Plowman Buckley
Kerridge Cripps Walker
Thomas Jaksch Sunmer
C Curnow Casboult Everitt
Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy (C)
From; Gorringe E Curnow Boekhorst Lamb
Gorringe can push forward, Walker can also push forward.
Boekhorst and Lamb to add pace.
Forward line will look better next year with McKay in there.
Hoping that Kerridge, Sunmer and Plowman can add quality..

Maybe in two years time if they can last some trade seasons, otherwise this is still a lowly experienced lineup with highly likely losing rate. Reckon you'd initially need to have E Curnow, Boekhorst, White, Armfield, all in the starting lineup. He'll, even Jones and Tutt should be chance for a run in the early part of the year, just for their experience. All speculative schitt.

Yep ... you are probably correct. I just haven't been that impressed with him yet.

Jaksch only just turned 21yo 2 months ago. Problem is we understand that big blokes take time, unless it's our own. Then we expect instant results otherwise they're no good.

Last year he was developing, needed kgs and plied his trade in defence as a 3rd tall until he was physically developed enough to go forward. McKay said he was recruited to be a 10 year key forward. I'm thinking, although he'll go forward next year, he'll still need another year yet.

He has no hope of being a rookie in 2 years.

I don't believe that ruck combo works for us. Kreuzer and a bit of Casboult - Casboult as a second ruck doesn't influence the ruck and is really only a good forward (IMHO). Unfortunatley I think we need another tall doing that, and if that other tall is Orange or someone else they take Jakschers' spot.

I think we have seen many times our rucks work better when Kreuzer rucks most of the day with a little help from Casboult. wehn Kreuzer has to share the workload with another ruckman is effectiveness is cut in half. We've seen that time and time again. Can't see why we have so many ruckmen on the list. Just clogs up the list. Let Kreuzer run around on the ball most of the day and let Casboult relieve for a few minutes a qtr. Don't need Gorringe, who's never done any good anyway. 22 uninspiring games in 5 seasons. No rucks replacing key forwards either. Never works. Jaksch to CHF for me. He'll be better next year after a year of development and more kgs in the pre-season.

Casboult did a good job when he was the actual 2nd ruckman to Wood last season. While certainly not a 1st ruckman he won alot more hitouts than previous years and was took alot of marks around the ground, more than any other ruckman. Well suited to a 2nd ruck role given he's adequate rucking, marks well around the ground and kicks goals as a forward, where he averaged 1.5 goals a game. Half the games he played he wasn't in the key position while Jones was in the side.

See no reason to play 2 ruckmen. Never does us much good.

Gorringe is unlikely to have been recruited as a ruckman, while Wood is one-year insurance on Kreuzer while the other two rucks we've brought in settle.

So you're looking at 3 rucks in 2017: Kreuzer, Phillips and Korcheck.
