We have five ruck prospects at the club we don't need more.

Wood is gone at the end of the year; Korcheck is outside both the senior and rookie lists and is a free hit that's unlikely to make it.

Gorringe has been picked up as a forward who can impact in ruck spells, which basically leaves Kreuzer, Phillips and Casboult on the senior list. So in 2018, I only expect Kreuzer and Casboult to still be on the list.

If we have pick 59 or 60 and Nyuon and Chol are there, I expect us to bid/select one, because we need a long term solution. I'd expect us to rookie Darcy Cameron otherwise.

Nyon couldn't possibly still be there at 59.
Surely.

Anyone expecting Carlton to select Jacob Hopper with pick 1, by any chance? Get GWS to shoot their load early?

Great question.

I wouldn't be unhappy with Hopper if GWS didn't match the bid.

They're not all going to be daniher or Moore

Chances are they are going to be Hampson.

From the limited footage I've seen - McKay has the physical traits of Hampson however also has footy skills and smarts.
I wouldn't be unhappy if we drafted him with pick #8.

I don't see anything in McKay.
He's taller than everybody else that's all.

Ben Griffiths with a poorer kick. He's not bad, but I'd be pretty disappointed if we used 8 or 11 on him. Doesn't seem like an exceptional character either.

In comes Synbad trying to narrow our list of potential draftees, rather than broaden them. If he wasn't at least smart enough to know it would make him look like a complete moron, I bet he'd even say drafting Weitering with pick one was a bad idea - such is his disdain for players over 190cm tall.

No. If for nothing else but the PR.

For a wooden spooner what you're trying to sell the public is the rebuild. "We've got the best young kid in the land" etc etc. How would it go down with the general public if our pick was actually someone we didn't even rate as the best player in the draft.

Same reason why St Kilda didn't bid pick 1 on Heeney last year.

Do you remember Hughes telling the world how NicNat would've gone first if we had a choice between him and Kreuzer, just after we'd picked Kreuzer? That went down well. :banghead:

Let's make a ten million dollar bet I'd say weitering at 1 is a bad idea.
Do it!
Or is this another disposable line?

Weitering at No1 is probably the surest thing since the inception of the draft..

Reckon paf won't bet me because I included the slab of favorite beer.
Reckon he knows I would have chosen Westvleteren 12 . reckon he knows, I know he can't get it!

Reckon he knows now he should have said he 'reckons' not he 'bets'.

I bet on that...!

Interested in what types of player you like this year for our current situation Synners.

Genuine Inside mids like Dunkley, Mathieson and Oliver?, Outside runners, but can still win enough of their own ball such as Milera, Gresham and Clarke?, the hybrid 'not sure what they'll be yet' utilities in Burton, Curnow or Francis? etc....

Legitimate question. You've copped a bit over a couple of predictions, but we're one of the leaders of the no more HBFers brigade, and picking players for the modern game so would be interested in your thoughts...

I know he can stick up for himself - but the bloke has just got back from a pretty lengthy ban and there are half a dozen of you lining up to bait him. At least give him a chance to work back into it.
