Bolton is backing himself and his assistants to take these guys to the next level, he was very involved in the selections we made make no mistake about that!

Stop being such a sad sack. It's so not a perfect system with so many variables in play. It's like trying to get 3 people on TC to agree on something.

We currently have 17 recycled players and 4 imported players on our list.
Half the playing group from recycled and important products

I hope they know what they are doing

All of them came in at a discount except Thomas, some more than others obviously, but on the whole we've got them cheap. Only Jones and Tutt have been an abject failure this far.

Jim have you ever wiped your arse with recycled toilet paper
If you had you would know its always scratchy and rough .
New paper is smooth and silky.
Cant get a quality product made from other people's garbage. It might be adequate but never as good

Yes, Burgoyne, Gunston, Frawley and Lake are like scratchy toilet paper and don't get me started on that Dangerfield chap, @#$%&! arse splinters!!!!!!!

17 Cimm its a lot

Get used to it.

Clubs down the bottom should be churning their lists. We draft/trade in and hold shit for tooooooo long.

We won't be able to sneak up the ladder with a draft pick here and a trade there. Pick your best 25-30 , assess the rest as quickly as possible and move on.

I think I have 14 by my count, with 1 or 2 a chance to still be delisted. I'm not sure it's as high as 17.

For reference, Hawthorn had 11 this year.

True, one high draft pick extra each year compared to the club that wins the premiership is not going to do a lot.

We will still be getting 4 shiny new kids in the first 19 picks in the draft. A mix of smooth and rough? For years we've been talking about how GWS would have too many talented kids to give them all a game and some would fall through the cracks. Well guess where they've landed!!

Sorry that just doesn't make sense.

Yeah, whichever way i look at it, it doesnt add up.
I dont think its that great an outcome to be honest

Our options were:-

- 1,8,20,21 and Yarran
-1,8,12,20,21 (if Tigs caved)
-1,8,11,19 and have a good honest crack at Tomlinson (aggressive)
-1,8,19,20,21

If we had known we wouldn't get Tomlinson we may have gone about the whole thing differently.

Still happy we blew up the list. Should have did it in 2012. A new beginning.

20 & 21 were worth more to GWS for Tomlinson than 11, or even 8... we traded for 11 once GWS said no for Tomlinson

Didn't we offer up 11 and 19 for Tomlinson at the end? Twitter said we did.

Really?

Don't know if that is good or bad. What I do know is that with pick 8 and 11 we are likely to get ourselves at least one very good KP and if it happens to be Weideman or Curnow, we can focus on quality mids for picks 11 and 19...maybe even another one KP in Collins or McKay with 19 for insurance and we can focus on next years best 3 mids with our first 3 picks.

Maybe Tomlison will be cheaper next year or year after as the GWS draft more KPs. If we have Tomlison in 2018 that will be perfect..Hawks like recruiting

And that's the issue... we could have traded 20 & 21 yesterday to GWS for pick 7 instead of receiving pick 11 today...

But yesterday we were still hopeful of using 20 & 21 somehow for Tomlinson...

The reason we swapped 20 21 for 11 was to guarantee we pick up at least 1 if not 2 kpf. They wont be there around 20. 1 or 2 of Weideman Burton Curnow. Next year will be tough. Bottom couple for sure and yes we lost talent but if we draft right we could build a spine for 12 years and in 4 years when yarran and henderson are veterans , we will hit our prime. Well done SOS.

You'd think so, we don't know what the draft is going to be like next year and who'd be available for trade (and for what). Our KPP stocks are virtually non existent.
