SOS gee whiz... Could be the man!!
Plowman, Phillips, Sumner, Lamb and Kerridge, good gets for next to nothing.
Pick 8 also, Henderson pick next year could be, 13,14,15. Another good get.
If we land pick 12 for Yarran, the rebuild is well ahead of schedule..
Pick 1, 8, 12??, 20 and 21.... Mad..
Think Warnock, White and Armfield maybe in trouble..
Thanks SOS, at least we're having a crack

Just needs to find a way to get rid of Casboult. Please make it happen SOS.

What is it with you and Levi?
Did he do your sister or something?

Just not a good player. Really hurts our team.

Wasn't the Henderson future pick passed on to GWS? But we did get pick 8 in return.

Well, i gotta say......... I'm still concerned at us churning out so much talent. Just about all of them have gone on to be stars at their respective clubs (Betts AA, Robbo B&F, Jeff 40+ goals, Grigg a solid contributor, Jacobs close to elite ruckmna, etc etc).

However, in saying that - I do look back over 2015 season and think to myself just how little Menzel, Hendo and especially Yazz seemed willing to give in the Navy Blue.

Maybe it's for the best.

Pick 1 & 8 should give us two very good players and i like a couple of the boys from GWS. Know nothing about Kerridge though.

Time will tell i guess.

The difference between now and the loss of the other talent we lost over the last few years is that we got compensation for them

Why didn't we

1) meet Betts' terms and trade him. We knew ther was no compensation if we brought Thomas in the same year.
2) trade Waite. Work out at least a token trade of picks for him
3) devalue Garlett and robbo so much that we gave them away for nothing. We devalued hendo, Menzel and yarran in the same way, but traded very strongly for first round picks. Watch us get 12 today for yarran.... Tigers will blink.

SOS yesterday showed that we finally found our MOJO

Watch when we are finally in contention again, we will be landing the Dangerfields, Buddy's etc. that time will come

Was just thinking, in its very short 4 year AFL history, we've relieved GWS of 6 players, and handed them one, O'hAilpin.

don't forget Thornton...ah nice pic

At the risk of being howled down and pilloried, every 'pundit' from Teflon Terry Wallet to Andy 'radar' Maher is collectively bemoaning how bad the Carlton list is and how we will win the spoon for the next 3 years in a row. Many of these folks are the same people that had us challenging for top 4 at this stage last year and had the Bulldogs headed to a long rebuild.

I am not suggesting for a second that the CFC list is premiership material but are we really that bad?? My impression this year was that with Mick gone we put the queue in the rack, as soon as a player was injured they were sent for surgery and replaced by a young player from Northern. potentially next year we welcome back into the side Thomas, Gibbs, Murphy, Jaksch before we add any trade-ins. In terms of what we are losing, Henderson, Yarran and Menzel were either in and out of the side or not fit/trying when they did play. To bring in some youngsters with a couple of years under their belt, then add some new talent we could be a lot better than many give us credit for.

I am not predicting a premiership or even finals but I dont think we are as bad as the whole interwebs seem to report we are. Next 3 spoons in a row?? Please! Surely not! If we get the right trades done today potentially we have Wietering and Plowman filling the defensive KP post, a fitter Crippa in the middle with Kreuz, Murph and Gibbs and Kerridge on one wing, Boekhorst on the other. KP forwards might be a concern but KJ and Levi surrounded by a fitter Clem Smith, Daisy, Sumner? Everitt.

Probably not in Hawthorn class but not 3 spoons in a row material either.

We are ordinary and ordinary is ok if we are developing. No pressure, no expectation, high draft picks. Bad and developing is far better than trying to push out of mediocrity

Look at it like this
Menzel for kerridge (It will depend on menzs fitness)
Pick 28 (really 33) for Plowman (win)
Pick 60 Sumner (win if he is fit. If not no loss)
Pick 77 lamb (win)
Philips is a freebie

The whole trade delivers list depth. If one of them ends up a B grader we will win the trade and if we are lucky we get 3 150 gamers. Menzel will have a good season or 2 but I doubt he has 100 games in his body and looks like the type of player who will retire at 28

It's actually pick 77 for Sumner and 90-something for Lamb.

I get the feeling SOS gets a little more respect at the negotiating table than Shane used to.

In the past I'd imagine our recruiters staring blankly into space for two weeks trying to figure out how these Academy points work.
