Well, i gotta say......... I'm still concerned at us churning out so much talent. Just about all of them have gone on to be stars at their respective clubs (Betts AA, Robbo B&F, Jeff 40+ goals, Grigg a solid contributor, Jacobs close to elite ruckmna, etc etc).


However, in saying that - I do look back over 2015 season and think to myself just how little Menzel, Hendo and especially Yazz seemed willing to give in the Navy Blue.

Maybe it's for the best.

Pick 1 & 8 should give us two very good players and i like a couple of the boys from GWS. Know nothing about Kerridge though.

Time will tell i guess.

Was just thinking, in its very short 4 year AFL history, we've relieved GWS of 6 players, and handed them one, O'hAilpin.

At the risk of being howled down and pilloried, every 'pundit' from Teflon Terry Wallet to Andy 'radar' Maher is collectively bemoaning how bad the Carlton list is and how we will win the spoon for the next 3 years in a row. Many of these folks are the same people that had us challenging for top 4 at this stage last year and had the Bulldogs headed to a long rebuild.

I am not suggesting for a second that the CFC list is premiership material but are we really that bad?? My impression this year was that with Mick gone we put the queue in the rack, as soon as a player was injured they were sent for surgery and replaced by a young player from Northern. potentially next year we welcome back into the side Thomas, Gibbs, Murphy, Jaksch before we add any trade-ins. In terms of what we are losing, Henderson, Yarran and Menzel were either in and out of the side or not fit/trying when they did play. To bring in some youngsters with a couple of years under their belt, then add some new talent we could be a lot better than many give us credit for.

I am not predicting a premiership or even finals but I dont think we are as bad as the whole interwebs seem to report we are. Next 3 spoons in a row?? Please! Surely not! If we get the right trades done today potentially we have Wietering and Plowman filling the defensive KP post, a fitter Crippa in the middle with Kreuz, Murph and Gibbs and Kerridge on one wing, Boekhorst on the other. KP forwards might be a concern but KJ and Levi surrounded by a fitter Clem Smith, Daisy, Sumner? Everitt.

Probably not in Hawthorn class but not 3 spoons in a row material either.

The whole trade delivers list depth. If one of them ends up a B grader we will win the trade and if we are lucky we get 3 150 gamers. Menzel will have a good season or 2 but I doubt he has 100 games in his body and looks like the type of player who will retire at 28
