Do you actually watch Australian Rules Football or are you talking about some other game?

Please don't trade Casboult!!!!! We've been paitent with him and are finally starting to see some promising signs. He just needs some decent delivery into the forward line and a coach that knows how to use him.

What are the promising signs ? He seems the same as his first year. Possibly a little fitter and a little more accurate.

Be fair, club. He's clearly worked hard at his kicking and has improved considerably in that aspect. He deserves credit for that.

Reports maybe true re Adam Thomlinson??
Came pass for a medical and passed..
Waiting for Yarran or Henderson pick to pass that on..
Thomlinson up forward and Weitering down back..
Have a feeling Sumner may have failed the fitness test...

Sumner's manager suggested any medical he does will come up ok.

I was listening to Mark Fine this evening and a caller rang in about Carlton and its intentions to get in some GWS players.
He made a good point in that Carlton does not embrace the draft and has a history of only using the bare minimum of picks in the national draft.
He said that there has to be other players out there other than a few GWS players and there are 16 other AFL clubs and clubs all around the country that we could look at players from.
In the last 4 drafts we have taken 13 players, the minimum was 12.
Two of those were older players in Rowe and Boekhorst.
He said that we need to take a chance on kids who have not been given the chance yet and these GWS players are taking up a valuable spot on our list.

Yep. We're going to trade all our picks away for GWS players. Damn Mark Fine is always one step ahead.

Nailed a few at the end of the year.

Imagine how many times throughout the season SOS had his head in his hands watching big Cas play. I am sure our rebuild doesn't involve building an attack around Levi Casboult. He is not a good player. Offload him as soon as we get a decent offer.

I think the point is if we're taking 8 off the list we should be drafting 8 players rather than trading for 5 and drafting the minimum 3.

This year may not be a good example with a weak draft, but how often have we had more than 4 draftees turn up at the club?

Weltering, Rice, Silvagni and a handful of Giants. It would be nice to take a chance on a few more unknowns.

Fine is stating the obvious about the past, but a little presumtious regarding this trade period.

Taking 8 picks into a thin draft would be overkill. It's about a balance. Don't want a repeat of 2000.

Plowman's platter if for one pick only, and he's only 20. Not much above draft age. Tomlinson is highly sought after. It's not like we're targetting Melksham, Moore and Astbury.

Plus there is also the high possibility of good picks in return to come in for Yarran, Henderson and Bell or Bell/Casboult. Too early to say we are only going in with 3 picks.

Age of list will reduce significantly. Judd, Carrotts, Ellard, Watson, Yarran, Bell, Warnock, Henderson maybe Casboult all 24+.

It's not a top-up.

Go to 40/4 and we get 2 more picks in the ND instead of rookie draft.

Three picks in the top 15, something to really build your team around, they'd have retired by now, 10 to 12 year players, legends of the club, quite a few premierships between them, at the Bizzarro World Carlton Football Club.

Agree but this one draft where trading 2nd round picks makes sense. Its a flankers draft beyond the top 20

Why not draft, Thomlinson, Phillips, Plowman, Sumner and Lamb???
If they pass Medicals and the price is right and SOS believes in their work rate/skill..
Don't care about some clown saying we don't draft enough kids, because when we do what happens??
I'm hoping for tigers first pick, maybe Weideman/Curnow
Lions second rounder for Bell/Casboult, pass to GWS for Thomlinson
Our second rounder for Plowman and Sumner
4th rounder and steak knifes for Phillips and Lamb
Bailey Rice for a second rounder??? Something for SOS to work out hopefully
Aish in the PSD, what a dream
Pick 1 Weitering (lock)
