@#$%&! this club. Don't they know Tony Abbott is available!

He's looking for a women's team to coach.

At least we can be assured every decision made by the footy department will be thoroughly reviewed.

It looks like the VFL Coach position is the only remaining spot to be filled. I wonder if Marco Bello could be a candidate? Bolton obviously would have worked with him at the Hawks and he has connections with the Northern suburbs (former Knights coach). I imagine he would be a popular appointment at Preston. Unfortunately, I don't think the Northern Blues job is considered a plum gig so not sure he'd leave Box Hill. I guess if he were going to move it wouldn't be announced until after the GF.

If Bello could be lured over, it would round out a coaching group which is young but all of whom have coached teams.

Carlton is yet to appoint a new VFL coach for the Northern Blues. It's understood the Blues have interviewed Dandenong Stingrays coach Craig Black for the role. Black was the Blues' third pick in the 1997 national draft but did not play a senior game.

The rebuild of Carlton has taken another major step, with Essendon** football boss Neil Craig quitting the Bombers to oversee Brendon Bolton's revamped coaching team at Princes Park.
In what has emerged as a virtual clean-out of assistant coaching positions, only John Barker and Matthew Capuano have survived the Blues' coaching facelift, with Barker returning from leave to accept a role as Bolton's stoppage coach.

The new Carlton assistants are Tim Clarke (midfield), Dale Amos (backline) and Shane Watson, who will oversee the Carlton forwards.
They make up the youngest team of assistant coaches in the AFL and will work under the guidance of former Adelaide coach Craig, who has been appointed the club's director of coaching development and performance.

While only time will tell, I must say I'm at least liking the way the appointments etc "look". It seems as if they are following due diligence and giving the appointments the appropriate time and consideration. I'm liking people from all different football clubs. One just hopes that any positive changes that upset the Carlton status quo are embraced not sidetracked.

Gotta hand it to them, they promised a cleanout and we have all been frustrated by the previous nepotism and 'old boys' culture. Looks at this stage like Trigg and SOS have taken a flamethrower to the whole football department including the playing list. Supporters have been desperate for a full rebuild, not just another 1 or 2 old boys or Mick's mates, all credit to Trigg and MLG, looks to this humble punter like that is exactly what is happening.

Yep, credit where it's due. Time will tell whether they're good appointments, but at least it seems we've cast the net wide.

Just because they are not household names doesn't mean they are not the best candidates for the job. It shows that we found the right people to work together with similar ideologies.

Really refreshing!

I am really excited about 2016 now, just to see a different culture and on field attitude.

Where's that Dale Amos from? Name rings a bell but can't quite put my finger on it.

The only positive is that it showed a real cleanout was necessary rather than a continual rejig and perceived rejuvenation.

I wonder what would be if Ratten never got the sack. You would think we would be better but we prob would never have been a top 4 threat. Mick made us bottom out and now hopefully we can have a crack at starting something special.

Best thing to have happened to the club this decade...

I agree. It was the recession we had to have.
