Interesting. I suspected the Pipers Brook v George Town rivalry would be too great.

Glad someone understood it :)

Change has got to be a good thing and we're bringing an arsenal of IP to the table from Hawthorn, Essendon*, Richmond, North Melbourne and Geelong.

Definitely looks like coaching prowess has been the focus more so than dominant playing careers.

I hope Sav is still around to work with Levi on his kicking as necessary.

What do we think about Capuano's performance? Obviously the club rates it

He must be good with the 'development' side of his job, because the ruck strategies and techniques have been deplorable.

What strategies are we talking about ? Genuine question.

And the best thing is that (and I'm assuming) BB will embrace the variety of knowledge and IP to formulate a best-practice model of implementation at the CFC.
Unlike MM's assistants, I reckon the new ones will be empowered and encouraged to challenge each other with ideas

We will surprise in 2016...I'm tipping 6-8 wins

Bewildered Shane Watson isn't the footy ops manager to be honest, guess we won't review the next shit tribunal decision we will inevitably get....

It's a Tasmanian thing... was in GT this past July and drove though Piper's Brook on the way back from Bridport.

I'm pleased with the appointments. It's good to hear an extensive process has been conducted. I like the idea that we haven't simply chosen candidates because they've recently retired as AFL players. No guarantees obviously. But exciting to think we may have just appointed the next great coach.

It looks like the VFL Coach position is the only remaining spot to be filled. I wonder if Marco Bello could be a candidate? Bolton obviously would have worked with him at the Hawks and he has connections with the Northern suburbs (former Knights coach). I imagine he would be a popular appointment at Preston. Unfortunately, I don't think the Northern Blues job is considered a plum gig so not sure he'd leave Box Hill. I guess if he were going to move it wouldn't be announced until after the GF.

If Bello could be lured over, it would round out a coaching group which is young but all of whom have coached teams.

Not sure but given his background lets hope the CEO never tasks him to take the temperature of the playing group!!

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/neil-craig-quits-essendon-joins-carlton-20150930-gjy0gb.html

Quote:
The rebuild of Carlton has taken another major step, with Essendon* football boss Neil Craig quitting the Bombers to oversee Brendon Bolton's revamped coaching team at Princes Park.
In what has emerged as a virtual clean-out of assistant coaching positions, only John Barker and Matthew Capuano have survived the Blues' coaching facelift, with Barker returning from leave to accept a role as Bolton's stoppage coach.

The new Carlton assistants are Tim Clarke (midfield), Dale Amos (backline) and Shane Watson, who will oversee the Carlton forwards.
They make up the youngest team of assistant coaches in the AFL and will work under the guidance of former Adelaide coach Craig, who has been appointed the club's director of coaching development and performance.
