Wow that's a sizeable turnover.
Much needed. Good luck to them all.

Looks like some quality appointments there. Hopefully the development component will step up.

What happened to Craig McRae?

Club has been turned upside down and inside out, the appointments throughout the club will be shown up or shone upon over the next 24 months. It's an impressive makeover from the club for which, in my book anyway, has gone through mostly in an uncarlton like way.

They all get 12 months grace from me, season 2017 is when I expect to see some real improvement onfield and if that happens along with continuing off field progress that's been as clear as day for 12 months now I think we'll be in a position to feel proud again.

Just don't @#$%&! up the good work!!!

Tim Clarke (Midfield)
Quote:
Tim Clarke spent two years as a development coach at Richmond between 2010 and 2011. After a year overseas he returned to the Tigers in another development role, then in 2014 when Richmond entered it’s first stand-alone VFL side, Clarke was appointed its inaugural coach.

As well as his proven coaching ability, Clarke played the game at the highest level, running out 96 times for Hawthorn between 2001 and 2008.

Shane Watson (Forwards)
Quote:
Shane Watson comes to Carlton from North Melbourne where he has been an assistant coach since 2010, working with both forwards and the backline.

Watson began his coaching career as the head coach for Lower Plenty in the Diamond Valley Football League in 2005. A season there led into an assistant coaching role at the Sandringham Dragons in 2006, before three years as the senior coach at the Eastern Ranges.

As a player, Watson ran out 141 times for Collingwood.

Dale Amos (Backline)
Quote:
Dale Amos comes to Carlton from Geelong where he has worked since 2009, spending three seasons as the Cats’ VFL coach before joining the AFL coaching ranks. His impressive coaching record includes leading South Barwon to a hat-trick of Geelong Football League premierships (2005-2007) and he was named GFL coach of the year in 2006.

Meanwhile Amos was also a champion player for South Barwon, where he was a dual best and fairest winner and played more than 200 games including in three premierships (2001, 2005, 2007).

All of the new additions seem to have some runs on the board and a good record at developing and nurturing young talent, which is exactly what we need. No more recently-retired hopefuls happy to have a job.

I like what Craig brings to the table in terms of experience and expertise, but his recent association with the drug cheats gives me pause.

And for the first time ever, I'm happy that Barker was re-appointed :donk:

What do we think about Capuano's performance? Obviously the club rates it

He must be good with the 'development' side of his job, because the ruck strategies and techniques have been deplorable.

Not sure but given his background lets hope the CEO never tasks him to take the temperature of the playing group!!

Michael Osborne gone as well.

Perhaps the two names floated around - Josh Fraser and Craig McRae will take the two vacant roles.

Fraser as the ex GC Neafl coach to take Webster's role, and McRae to take over Osbornes development role but with greater responsibilities?.....

Also Joel Hocking has been promoted the Northern Blues as Physical Performance Manager, while Mark Homewood the Medical Coordinator.
