If Trigg confirmed it, it isn't a rumour.

Neil Craig has emerged as a leading contender for the Carlton director of coaching position, with chief executive Steven Trigg confirming the former Adelaide coach has held talks with the Blues.

New senior coach Brendon Bolton has interviewed Craig, who heads a list of candidates for what is shaping up as a major overhaul of the Carlton coaching team.

I hope that any appointment is not forced fed and Bolton has had a clear run at making his selections.

Craig sounds like a Trigg favourite.

Barker remaining also feels like a CFC obligation.

How does he refer to James Hird?

What is a reasonable result from the team for 2016 that will get people off his back?

He is neutral at the moment, in that most people have no strong feelings or expectations about him yet. Contrast that to say MM where there was a large core group that were very negative against MM and so were on his back before he even started. Ratten on the other hand had most in his corner right from the start. So I feel that BB rests somewhere in between at the moment.
But once the preseason starts and we start to get training reports etc there will gradually be a shift one way or another. People will be quick to judge and will start defending their judgments with a "told you so " .
For those that have the intestinal fortitude to put their unbiased ideas out there as to what constitutes a fair return/expectation for BB in 2016 it will be interesting to hear these ideas now, not in 6 months .
So what are these ideas?
In terms of Ladder Position?
In terms of game plan?
in terms of Player development ?
In terms of fitness?

Ladder position will be last.
In the third year of his tenure there should be some tangible improvements.
I am comfortable in being uncomfortable in making these statements.

I don't believe we will be last next year. We have a large number of players coming back from injury, a large number who will be a lot fitter and an influx of higher performing recruits.

As long as we get the people and process right, and are prepared to go on a journey. Together. :donk:

His foot is stuffed. Will never be able to sustain an afl career with it. Time to move on unfortunately.

Exactly.
We have a history of making it too personal and subsequently holding onto players for too long...Perhaps in the end it was through sheer desperation.
We are beginning to function as a business again that is willing to make the hard calls when needed.

True although our history of holding on to players too long is only surpassed by our history of incorrect medical assessments.

Trade week will be a true indicator of ladder position next year.
If we trade for a KP forward or 2, things might not be that bad next year.
Jaksch development now becomes crucial, especially in 2016.
Don't expect the draftees to be able to do much for us next year.
