Anyone else here remember his first game?

It was in the second-last round of 2004, against Melbourne at Princes Park. Did a really nice job as a small defender on Aaron Davey, who was playing really well at the time.

Great servant of the club.

Vividly recall his first game, it was on my birthday!

The last blue to ever debut at Princes Park.

Towelled up Davey, never took my eyes off him all day, as did many others on Team Carrots.

I was there. I might be wrong but was that the game the day after Vin Waite passed away?

i think that was a year earlier in 2003.

carrots' debut stands out in my mind not only because of his long and slick italian stallion hairdo, but because we won at princes park... which was an unfortunate rarity post 2002.

all the best andrew!

While I applaud the fact that he got the most out of his career and cannot doubt his ticker, the fact he has nearly got to 200 games is an indictment on the CFC over the last 12+ seasons. Have often said that while he was good enough to get a game we weren't good enough to achieve success.

No - the game you are thinking of was the previous season (2003), but the same opposition (though a different result).

Davey was on fire back then too.

Congrats on your career Carrots, played a blinder on Pendlebury a few years back if memory serves.

Go Blues.

Well done on a great career.

He had some faults, but had the ability to shut down an opposition player and get 30+ touches himself.

Anyone remember his jobs on Dal Santo at Etihad?

I think he was a fabulous Carlton man, always put the club first, got the absolute most out of his body, and very articulate off field. Loved his retirement talk to players. If Chris Yarran had carrots attitude he wd be a superstar. Good luck for the future Andrew

I think he actually got himself off the whipping boy list for a time. He gave his best, that's all you can do.

I hope the CFC improve their injury management. My perception is we seem to let injuries plague some of our players.
