Is he eligible for retirement?

Just watched his press conference...all class, we've lost a good leader there

I was a fan but he has chosen the right moment to go. Its the way it goes for over 30 something players. If he was at say a doggies he would probably keep going, but at a bottom side rebuilding there is no point.

A great example to others in getting the most out of himself.

Well done Carrots on a good career. A loyal Carlton player who always gave it his all.
Spoke really well and will be missed around the club.
Best of luck to him.

The right call at the right time for club and player.

As Mike Sheehan would say "Carrots, you're entitled to be proud of what you've achieved".

Very good player and great clubman.

Should have been our captain.

Always have respect for a player like him. Did it the hard way and got the best out of himself to become a very good AFL player.

I'd pick someone of his character over a talented player who doesn't give 100% each and every time.

Onya Carrots.

I think he's eligible? Is he?

If I had 3 two-year old kids at home I'd be spending as much time at the club as possible

Good career. If it wasn't for the pure hatred I have for 18-20 of his teammates I might've walked down to say goodbye on Saturday.

A fine player and a great Blue. At his best he had the rare ability to stop a good player from getting the ball whilst simultaneously getting lots of it himself.

May his post football career loop as high as some of his passes!

I saw him play at the gabba in 2012 the week before the drug cheats wrecked his career. He was imperious against the Lions that night. Forty plus possessions from memory.

I think he's a blue through and through and an asset to this club over his career. I'll never miss Judd (who I never saw as a Carlton man), but the heart and soul carrots brought means I'll miss his passion for the Guernsey.

Anyone else here remember his first game?

It was in the second-last round of 2004, against Melbourne at Princes Park. Did a really nice job as a small defender on Aaron Davey, who was playing really well at the time.

Great servant of the club.

Wasn't blessed with the physical attributes of many, but possessed the heart of only a few.

Courage and loyalty personified, I hope the club recognises this and retain him at the club for coaching or development of our younger players.

Go Carrots, Go Blues!!!

Don't think anyone in the last 15 years wore the jumper with as much pride as Andrew did.

Fantastic career.

Good luck Carrots! Gave 100% every time he put on the guernsey. Got the best out of himself which is all anyone could ask.

I was there. I might be wrong but was that the game the day after Vin Waite passed away?
