Im excited, and will look out for it.

The start of a new era.
Hopefully it really is Bolton and he gets to work right away....no book tours or Hawks preferred.
There's a lot to do before the season ends in 6 weeks.

Who stays, who we trade, who we target, how we will play...and get the players started on their preseason.

Selection committee Chair and Carlton CEO Steven Trigg says Bolton represents the change needed to lead the build of the football program.

“I’m delighted to welcome Brendon to our club and to our team. It is our vision that Brendon will be a long-term coach of our football club as we build toward sustained success. He will be afforded the time and the resources to take Carlton back to where we all want it to be and we will support him every step of the way.

“What set Brendon apart was far more than just his resume and experience, which is impressive in itself. It was his proven ability to develop and educate that convinced our selection panel that he is the right person for Carlton. He is a proven performer, having come from an elite environment where the ultimate success has been achieved.

“To our interim coach, John Barker, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for what he has achieved since taking on the role. He has restored a competitive spirit to our team and always put the club first in everything he did.

“John has earned nothing but the highest level of respect from everyone at Carlton and the wider football community, showing he has the qualities and the drive to become an AFL senior coach. We will continue to support John however we can with his next steps.”

**************

Brendon Bolton will continue in his role at Hawthorn until a time to be confirmed, while John Barker will remain Carlton’s caretaker coach until the end of the home and away season.

Most important that Dean Laidley stays. Very good coach when it comes to set ups and structures. Just have a look at our improvements in the clearances.

A distinct change from the past

Some have said we are coming from way too far back to recover from where we are now.

This may be so, I think if we don't come back from here we are gone as a club.

Good luck Brendan Bolton.

Another "bloke from Hawthorn"

The last one wasn't too bad.

We aren't that far back. Ratts turned the ship around and we cut corners coming from a poorer position. This time we have a foundation to build on and a big shot at the cream of the draft.

Great appointment. I really like the way we went about it. Nice to see, finally.

I am hoping he brings a positive game style and culture to teh club. Big job ahead for him but I think he's up to it.

Now SOS it's up to you. #NewCarlton

Well done Carlton. Finally acting like a mature, process driven football club.

Good luck Brendon.

little wee man better have a big presence...

bad luck to Barker, my preference was for Barker to stay on as coach. Loved the way he presented himself and spoke with the media.
Problem I have with Bolton is that I can't listen to what he is saying as I'm too busy laughing at how he is saying it.

Bloody hell. That didn't last long.

Thanks for the service Brendon, it's a shame it had to end so soon.
