Sorry bluegirl, I am afraid I agree with Jimmae and others. Lachie was given a second chance by us, he was in the leadership group, and when we really needed him to lead, he walked out. Maybe the culture isn't great and the team is certainly ordinary. He could have chosen to help lead us fporward, he chose to walk out

..goalless in his last five matches..

Well that's an awful bench.

Are we trying to build up Menzel's trade value?

He's a 20 yr old with plenty of talent FFS. How about this rabble of a club actually try and take the time and responsibility and create an environment to develop such talent. Easy option is to crucify him for some of his flaws and trade him away only to watch him thrive elsewhere.

He's a spud. Can't run, can't find the ball. Another poor pick who is getting found out

A spud?
Menzel has more natural talent than 90% of our list. He's struggling at the moment but I have no doubt he'll be a quality AFL player in a couple of years. Watching him play junior rep footy, he was an absolute standout. He just needs some consistency with training and fitness.
Something his body isn't allowing him at the moment.

The concern though BV is the nature of the LARS surgery performed on him and if his artificial ligament is failing. If the injury concerns are unrelated to that then he goes in for a tidy up in the off-season and hits the ground running in the pre-season.

I hope everything's travelling OK with him, otherwise he might be out for a year.

That's your opinion and your entitled to it. I've watched him closely and I believe he doesn't have the running or endurance capability to be an AFL footballer let alone a good one. He's in his third season and has had no major injuries in that time yet he can't run out a quarter.

With ball in hand his skills are top shelf but at AFL level he gets exposed greatly, blows up way to quickly and I believe the club are now discovering that. Only time will tell.

He's been playing injured the whole year but don't let the truth get in the way of a good story

Really. So what's the injury he's been playing with all year and allows him to keep playing now?

Menzel a spud?

If he's up for trade there'll be 17 clubs very interested.

So we beat Port and they beat the Hawks, so we should have no trouble with the Dees. Feel sorry for Watson, i think he has been trying hard in the 2s and deserves one more shot

Watson being held out of the VFL game, so Casboult is probably under a slight cloud for tomorrow.

Like to see Watson play out the season regardless of performance

I can see Watto kicking 10 tomorrow and this site going into meltdown at his effort that costs us pick 1 :-)

Going tomorrow purely for the champ. Feel he deserves a send off of sorts.
Love ya Juddy. You gave us great hope and excitement. An all time great, and one of the few reasons to attend the football over recent years. Go blues

And is why other clubs didn't select him before us.

LARS has a history of failure. If we didn't accept that it would fail during his career with almost 100% probability, then we are horrible at risk management. Anything LARS related should be built into the 'investment' and should not be a reason to trade.

I agree we should try and win but there are ramifications and they are more than Pick 1. PSD negotiating power and falling down spots in the draft order especially if Brisbane get compo picks etc. It can also cause us to miss preferred players and may effect bargaining power.

I was under the impression no-one wanted to come to us, so the PSD position is an irrelevant discussion point.
