12 wrongs don't make a right. Grant is a very average player, more a flanker than anything and not what we need. Makes no sense to me.

Can someone please show some footage somewhere of Aish that leaves you satisfied he is worth pick 20 in any upcoming draft?

I'm just not seeing it. All of his AFL games this season are available on afl.com.au to any Australian resident via the smart replay feature, so have at it and cut up a highlight reel where he looks like a top 10 player.

Docherty looked streets ahead of him at the same point in his Brisbane career, as did Yeo. Did they get pick 20? The top 30 at this draft isn't bad, so this year's 20 is still worth 20 in any other year.

We should be looking at a bloke like Stewart with that pick if we're going to trade it off, or as a makeweight in a big deal like getting Patton.

Because you look at heights and weights and call it a day based on your extremely obtuse views of talent, especially of anyone over the age of 24.

He has elite pace for his height, he is a naturally attacking player and he runs all day. Play him in the high half forward role and he, Boekhorst, Yarran and Buckley would terrorise sides. He and Stringer are what make the Dogs' forward line so dynamic.

Stop gaps are the issue. No more. Not in this draft, the next, not ever. I'd rather continue to get belted each week knowing that the kids will improve. I thought St.Kilda would struggle to win a game after the Wellington game, they stuck to their guns and are reaping rewards.

No that is not correct. Your and my views are poles apart but that doesn't make me obtuse. I just don't think he is a good player and he is not what we need. We have a good base to build on and need to add potential A grade talent to our list.

The reason that Bulldogs forward line works so well is that get it in quickly and to the advantage of a teammate most times with good ball use. Something we drastically lack. Also, Yarran is gone, BB is yet to prove himself by a long way and Buckley is showing great promise as a defender so it's fair to say your logic lacks logic.

All you're advocating is more of the same of what we have done over the past few years. I am all for bringing in talent to the club but at least make sure they can play. IMO Grant doesn't add anymore than a Walker or Everitt could.

We need key position players and mids. Not flankers.

As it should be. Not that keen on him myself and Essendon* (egged on by Robbo's media crap) will want two first round picks for a bloke who might be getting splinters into his concrete arse for two years.

Don't want him or his attitude. Seriously, he played a few good games last year and outside of this has done very little. Hendo is a better player.

If there's no coach in place by trade period, Dodoro will be drunk on power.

I'd guess that he wants our 1st round picks for the next 10 years as fair compensation for Carlisle.

I really hope we use the PSD.
There are no bridges left that aren't worth burning when it comes to these scumsuckers.

Aish is difficult to quantify based on:
1. Differing form from last year to this year
2. Perception (right or wrong) that he is a link player more than a destructive break the lines type
3. (Supposedly) weak draft, meaning first rounders more of a priority
4. His desire to get out and whether this is interpreted as weak, a reflection of the Lions or an attitudinal thing.

I have not seen enough of him to either get too excited or make a definitive call. Happy to take quality always but if we do, I see him becoming the new Gibbs in terms of fan discontent.

I'm sure I just saw someone back on page 95 arguing that Jarrad Grant was the answer and then the same person on page 96 saying that James Aish was rubbish.

I'm sure that isn't what they actually meant though.
