The planets are aligned me thinks.

Instant replacement with similar aged Carlisle getting to us for bugger all as we will have pick 1 PSD. Swings and roundabouts..

Wouldn't use your exact words, but agree with the spirit of this post. Gave us nothing in 2015 when we really needed it.

Can somebody try and convince Jones and Tutt to walk out on the club as well please. Sad to see Hendo go, seemed like one of the few guys with currency that we had. We arent exactly overflowing with KPP talent. Here's hoping that it is darkest before the dawn but then i've been saying that for 15 years now! Thought Barker handled it well, if this is all some kind of tinfoil hat style conspiracy and Hendo was given the Lemonade and Sars in April, then Barker has a promising career as a professional poker player waiting for him if he misses out on the Senior coaching gig!

Lachy gets told at the start of the season he's going to be traded, and is naturally upset because he wants to stay. And according to this board he's a sook.

I really hope he plays blindingly well for whoever he lands at. The squealing on this board will be a delight to witness.

Can you or anyone else for that matter unequivocally state that this was the case??

I find this very hard to believe. Stories can be embellished.........sounds like bullshit to me.

Said it better than I could.

Will be thrilled to see him back at his best in defence for a competent club with a healthy environment.

Go well Lach!

Would we entertain a swap for Carlisle, with Essendon**** getting something off Geelong?

a three way...Carlise to us, Hendo to Cats, Geelong trash to Essendon**

Why???

Carlisle pfft. He's only an Average to good player. If we finish last - get him via PSD. No need to deal him into a 3 way with Cats.

I suspect Cats have been into Hendo all year.....I saw Joel Selwood/Chris Scott/One other Cat walking down Royal Parade Parkville during the year

Cats can pay and do so with a 1st rounder thanks

Mixed emotions on this one - always thought he was a young man of good character and a quality player. Leaving three week early is poor form on his part. Maybe it says more about the culture of the club. Hope the club plays hard ball in the trade period. As an earlier poster said, testing time for SOS.

Carlisle is younger, and probably has more upside ....

But Hendo has a better character, and is a proven reliable player (in defence at least) that you can build a team around.

Neither like to play out of position.

I don't think Carlisle would be an upgrade, but if we can get him in the PSD (or for a late 3rd rounder), then that helps us.

Em's been on the $$ since April/May with Lachy's situation.

If you're expecting the club to say that publicly, I can't help you.

From that time he almost took that mark in the goal square in that final against Sydney in 2010, he's been an "almost" player.

Henderson, see yah.

Meh!!

Prefer Weitering & Collins in our defence than either of those two. This is now about the Carlton of the future!

Well done Carlton taking a tough stance with Lachie Henderson and stating they will no longer play him in 2015. Once he announced he wants out of the club he should pack up his locker and get out of the place.
I am proud of the stance the club has taken not only does it set an example it is also pragmatic and sensible from point of view of trade value and list management.
I liked Hendo until 3 months ago when his lack of effort was so obvious that it was insulting to his team-mates and supporters. He should be ashamed to collect his pay cheque based on the insipid football he dished up this year.
Am I bitter?? Yes I am but the reality is players like Hendo annoy the crap out of me - Gen Y pretty boys with an unfounded sense of entitlement and aversion to hard work, they are good footballers but believe they have a God given right to play in a winning side.As a person I wish him well but as a footballer I wish him misfortune at wherever his career takes him. Adversity reveals much about a person's character and from what I have seen from Hendo this season he is not what we need going forward
From a purely practical point of view his form doesn't warrant senior selection and why play him and risk him getting injured and thus lowering his trade value.
Let's trade him for whatever deal is best for the club NOT solely what he wants.
I look forward to the late first round pick we get for him as a trade. We need to recruit kids who have leadership qualities and are prepared to build something with hard work.
