Wasnt there something like 20 thousand tickets given away for free to this game?

Also unsure about other states (and I know Canberra isnt a priority AFL market) but 7mate have decided to air this game in Canberra on free to air on a two hour delay

Coming to the end of a tough season you can see some players have given up and it's hard to get motivated. Not that it should be.

Apart from giving some of the kids a run I'd like to see some players trialled in different spots. Especially for players that are struggling they can be freshened up and maybe learn something or even find a spot that revives their career. Given our poor list what do we have to lose and every positive we can find could be a bonus.

Touhy in to the centre
Jamison at FF
Everitt at CHB
Docherty on ball
Murphy as a small forward
Walker FP
Tutt BP
Menzel in defence or let him follow Pendlebury.
Play Walsh, DVR & Whiley
Watson at FB
Rowe FP/Second ruck
No Tagging. Lets see if Curnow can play as a true mid. He deserves a change anyway

If only one works we have gained something. Just a thought.

Are you angling for the biggest ever Carlton loss to Collingwood?

We need to drop 2.5% so every little bit helps.

With Hawthorn in the last round I don't think it will be a problem.

Just to clarify I was offering some options. Not to do all of them.

Could be a record low crowd

I've been thinking this for a few weeks now. My Collingwood mates are about as happy as we are with the way their season is progressing.
Imagine a Carl/Coll game at the G with 40, 000. It could happen.

Didnt it happen last year? It was the Sunday night game and it was awful weather, I think Eddie wanted compensation.

Yeah it was just over 40k from memory.

The MCG website has the expected attendance for this match at 47k, but if they're to get there then a lot of Collingwood supporters are going to have to attend as Carlton supporters don't go anymore (we were outnumbered on Saturday night by North fans!).

I dont think we were outnumbered we just didnt cheer as loud as North Supporters ,as we knew we wouldnt win .One thing I do know,if we were fighting for a place in the 8 and they were in our shoes there would have been a crowd of 40000+ instead of the 26000. North have a small supporter base even when they are winning not like us if we are winning we go ,we just dont make alot of noise

I take your point about crowd noise, but I reckon we broke even at best.

Will be interesting to see how many turn up on Saturday, particularly as this is an away game.

Carlton will axe Chris Yarran, Troy Menzel after failing to meet on-field expectations

STRUGGLING Blues Chris Yarran and Troy Menzel have been axed for Saturday’s clash against Collingwood.

It is understood both players have both been dropped to the VFL after again failing to meet team on-field expectations in the loss to North Melbourne on Saturday night.

Menzel had 13 possessions and Yarran 15 in the 64-point loss to the Roos, but some of their defensive and running efforts were also called into question by radio by commentators over the weekend.

I like it. Barker impressing me more and more. Yarran has looked disinterested and Menzel has been living on potential for too long. Good to see. The club needs to set standards.

Will say this for about the 4th week in a row; would've liked Jaksch to get a run.

Good to see Holman come straight back in. He's been a pleasant surprise in the back half of this season. Hope Whiley gets to play his own game and isn't stuck tagging Pendlebury again.
I considered it wise getting games into Walker earlier in the year because it could increase his trade value, but I'm not sure he's worth anything any more.
