I think the cut off is tomorrow for memberships to be included in this years's tally.

+3

Wrestled with it for months, but got the sms this morning and concluded it's in my blood, and like family I'm deciding to see it through (again). I only joined for the first time after the dark days of 2008, wanted to be more part of the revival. I got to experience two finals wins with my two boys and that remains special. I want my boys to keep feeling part of it. The 2015 and 2016 option was attractive too, no getting hassled next year!

Similar to me, I am a home and away members reserve member.
I am really peeved at opposition supporters who have been sitting in our "Carlton members" area at Etihad.
Apparently the AFL pressure the clubs to hand back unsold seats and they get sold to the general public on match day.

Hi kezza ,I am with you ,but I dont think it is the club doing it,it is the officials manning the area who go after half time then it is open slather for anyone to sit where they want to.For the game against the DOGGIES I had a whole family of Doggies Supporters sitting next to me. It HAPPENS at every game MCG OR ETIHAD I am at the stage that I may just take out a membership with RESERVED SEAT for home games ONLY and not bother about buying the AWAY GAMES with seats ,there are always uninvited opposition supporters sitting in our area .I am sick of it.I WONDER IF ANY COMMITTEE MAN IS READING THIS AS I WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER WHAT THE CLUB IS DOING ABOUT IT

We had a group of drunk North supporters who came into our seating area on level one on Saturday. They abused us and because we asked the attendant to move them we copped more abuse from the standing room area where they moved to. It was a horrible night and it is unfair on those who have paid big money for seats.
I am sick of it too and complained to Etihad yesterday. It is not hard for an attendant to do their job properly and check tickets.

The AFL has released the membership numbers for this season.
We are one of three teams to have a drop in membership, Collingwood and Adelaide being the other two.
Even the Swans have more members than we do.

No, not in the slightest.
It will be interesting to see the revenue from memberships, this often tells a different story.

You may want to have a look at the revenue through the gate for this season, that might tell you a different story too.

The board need to embrace the plebs and be a lot more inclusive.
No more cosy board appointments... give members a say.

The club's only hope to reverse membership fortunes for next year is to sell "a new Carlton".

The introduction of Bolton, a new coaching team, more inclusive management, gun new recruits and the new leadership of Cripps/Docherty/Buckley is one key pillar.

The other is to build on the exodus of guys like Henderson and Yarran, who are not "bound by blue". The new Carlton needs to be a place where people are prepared to give their all for the club and its supporters.
