It's always a wonderful to hear the Port supporters going nuts on the talkback on 5AA after a loss and this one is no exception. Umpires this, equalisation of frees that. It just a nice thing to hear them squeal.

Well it's Friday night in Mexico and for the first time in ages my weekend isn't ruined.
I was chuffed with the win but i was more chuffed with the way we won it with hard at the ball and man footy.
Cracker of a game to watch and I can't wait to get another look at it tomorrow.
I think Cripps might be a player to watch out for. He shows potential.
Potential to be a superstar, that is.
Bell is getting better every week and this sort of fast, relentless, hard at it footy suits his body and his tank. He and Cripps are two who can't be easily pushed off the footy. I love the way he plays footy.
The much maligned Denis Armfield, long one of my favourites had a massive game again tonight. He is so fast across the ground and tough. That front on bump he took in the third was gutsy. He is never beaten in a contest until it is over.
Casboult can't miss. With Hendo, Everitt, Kreuzer and Casboult in the F50, someone is going to take a mark unless the other team loads up with talls.
Barker has brought the Hawthorn hardness to this mob in three weeks. If they can keep it up they will surprise a few teams. He didn't do his chances any harm tonight.
One swallow a summer maketh not, as they say but it's nice to have a win.

Thought we'd blown it.

Very happy with the tackling, physicality, intent.

Some great contributors but......

CRIPPS :smoking:

I loved winning

That plus the fact we actually hurt thier players when contact was occurring has made me very happy

They call it unsociable footy and to see us play it makes me hard for more

Imho this was such an important win for the fact we did it without Judd. Not wanting to take away from the great man himself, but to grind out a win like that without Judd is great for the boys confidence.

Cripps just put Judd's boots on. BOG tonight IMO and has yet to play 20 games. The kid is a monster and if he can stay on the park will win plenty of games for us. We don't even know what he can do yet in the air. Bell might look like Kouta but Cripps might end up playing like Kouta.

Exhilarating, brutal football! So many contributors, unsociable footy that showed no respect to the opposition like the Carlton of old, accurate kicking and a completely savage performance. The future on display today - Cripps an absolute monster, Graham Buckley Everitt Bell all hard at it, Murphy growing as a captain, Casboult learning how to kick, full of run and uncompromising tackling, possibly the hardest display of defensive effort of any team this year. A well deserved win, this is now the standard that is non-negotiable from here on out. Heads high Blues, a no nonsense, honest and tough performance. A long way to go but one for the ages and hopefully a line in the sand moment

Yep

I can't believe the turnaround by this team. It really is amazing and is reenergising the club and supporters.

Graham's efforts, particularly evident through his tackling , has been a highlight the last two games. I dare say Mick would have ended his career had he remained as coach. Just didnt believe in the lad.

Bell just keeps running. His strength and run is really important late in games. He mightn't be the classiest guy out there but his big body and run far outweighs his lack of polish.

And of course CRIPPS !!!

Was just listening to Gibbs as he was talking about football under Barker, said the team was enjoying playing with freedom, which they didn't have during the first half of the season ...

20,000 + at the G.
Pathetic crowd for a marquee club, even against Port. It shows how far we have fallen.
I'm guessing crowds will improve if we keep playing this brand of footy, win or lose. I really believe we can take a loss if they have a go and if they do that, the supporters will be as you say. They were certainly loud tonight for a small mob.

Think its worth pointing out how good Travis Boak was in that last quarter for them. Nearly single handedly dragged a lifeless uninspiring team over the line in the last. Probably the best individual effort I've seen all year. Unlucky.

What are those Port morons on about. If it wasn't for the umpires they would have been 4 goals down at half-time and 8 goals down at 3/4 time.

Fantastic effort Blues - really gutsed it out at the end.
