For the record I want us to move on from McKay, but let's not shit on his CV and declare him to be a moron.

15 years as a player? WOW, doing his own contract in the 90's. Seriously.

Admin work for the AFL at the MRP?

Where is there any experience making him suited for the role? Look at Hocking at Geelong, Fagan at Hawthorn, even Tom Harley spent time at GWS then the boss of AFL NSW before taking on the role at the Swans, all went and got experience before assuming such an important role.

No experience that is even close yet we put him in charge?

Question is where was the due diligence for such an important role and how would you rate him so far?

Hocking is a good example of what you're looking for, Fagan's first GM role was at Melbourne, with about as much experience as McKay.

Harley's CV is even worse than McKay's!

You're all over the place with your examples. Please stop pointing at currently more successful clubs and assuming they offer some sort of panacea for our woes. That's exactly the kind of thinking that created this mess.

Really, General Manager of AFL NSW then to the Swans, McKay was on the MRP. That's what you call worse?

It was you that wanted examples. I don't really care. My concern is why he was placed in charge, what was the process and how well have he gone so far. You seem to be huge apologist for McKay, please let us know.

Harley was in that role for 2 years, after which is stepped down.

I'm equally concerned by the process that appointed McKay, but feel he could have worked wonders with his background had he had a little more support at board level to steer a few appointments.

Why don't we just close down TC, remove the Carlton Board and leave everything to guru jimmae.

Nothing wrong with 7 for whiley Jacksch Bokehurst
It was the selection of Bokehurst over Le Verde or Goddard
If we had Goddard Jacksch or Laverde Jacksch we would cheering

Not sure about that. Would you want 1 A grade player or 3 average players? In an average draft pick 7 was gold.

After less than half a season it's fair to say last year was an average draft.

Our picks or overall ?

IMO,
Jacksh is still young and will learn. Still needs a few pre seasons in the gym.
BB ok without being spectacular, but worth pick 19 ?
Whiley to me = an Adam Bentick type. Meh. Prob gone in a few years.

Not sure if all that worth Pick 7.

That's my question for discussion. The thing we lack is real elite talent. Most come early in the draft. Which is more beneficial, One elite player or 3 good players?

In a rebuild and where our list is I believe we need reall top level players. We have enough workers or role players.

PS Isn't it amazing how the same people try and turn it into a cheap point score and focus on a negative that wasn't even there. And how quick are they to do it?

Well I'm not sure why you said Jaksch needs more time in the gym? Psych says kids don't grow much after 20/21 muscle wise so that's a bust and he will only ever be a third defender.

Also BB was only rated a rookie pick by all psychs contacts. So I assume you think he will never be any good too?

lol

Anyway, we can only hope that things will improve with at least a couple of last years crop/
As for going forward, noise coming out of Trigg and CFC is that they re not prepared to trade our top end talent, but would rather try to nail every pick in the ND in next few years.
They ve publically stated that Murphy and Gibbs are 'untouchables', but reckon if a club puts up a decent trade for either Hendo or even Yazz, they might seriously look at it.
