Hey M25, I know you're not a huge rap for Jesus, but Jesus is omnipresent (or so the Marist Brothers told us)

So the correct answer was Jesus

No. He was appointed in December. He was at gws during last year's draft.

If we offered to pay most of Daisy's contract, reckon we could trade him? He was a mess last night.

Poor boy was playing heartbroken. Surprised he didn't end up reported.

It's like he's trying to sabotage us for sacking mick. It's obvious he wouldn't have chosen us if mick wasn't around.

I'd trade him, given our postion this year, get what we can whilst he still commands some value and we have a strong hand at the trade table.
He'll be fine in 2016 in a new environment and different circumctances.
The giants have quiete a few very good young players, WHE would be a great get .
We should be offering heaps to both lads , Charlie Dixon and WHE.
Warnock , Judd and Carrazzo are all on very healthy contacts and may probably all be gone years end, so we'll have room to move.
Ciao

I'm not even beginning to understand where that strength comes from.

Me neither.
I don't think the "nothing to lose" mindset is really an advantage in this situation.

But a 'nothing to gain' one might be?

If we finish last we will be in a strong in the PSD. Thomas would then become a reasonable trade for one of GWS waivering young guns. They get an expirenced marquee player. Who'll probably come good next season in a new set up and we get a 10 year gun to develop.
We must target and lash out with a big contract , get one of them over the line.
Ciao

Dale Thomas, IMO, has about as much value as Adam Cooney did last year. He was traded for pick 37. Would we be willing to trade him for a pick in that range, and also pay a good chunk of his salary for the next 2 years? Coz that's the trade option that might be available to us.

You might want to compare who GWS have previously traded for in terms of experience to Thomas' output this season. It's not quite on the money for the kind of trade they seek.

They'd be much more interested in Gibbs or Murphy.

I think Daisy is pretty close to being untradeable. He simply hasn't shown enough for a top team to think getting him on to their list, even if we were paying half or more of his salary, would put them over the top.

And if he does start showing something, considering we have to pay a high percentage of our cap anyway and a heap of money is going to start coming off our cap with retirements and other more likely trades, we may as well keep him.

Gibbs or Murphy will not be traded. The way I see it , we've got Krooz and Thomas that will be of some interest if the come good in the second half of the season. Plenty of game left to show what they're worth.
Krooz could decide to walk too, if a very good offer is made to him and Thomas's postion at the club may just be untenable now that Mick's gone and the constant reference to his contract and spot light on his performance output , the loss of Betts.
So I'm hoping they play well and then we try and maximize their value and the last spot on the ladder will give us a good hand to do that.
Ciao

I'm hoping their fitness improves and they become valuable contributors for us into the future. I believe both Kreuzer and Thomas are more valuable to us as players than they are as a trade chip. They'd both be a case of buying high, selling low, the opposite of what we want.
Murphy, Gibbs, Yarran, Henderson. These guys have genuine value and we would be trading them while their value is at its highest.

Not sure how that works because he came as a restricted free agent. I think the whole of his contract still has to be included in our salary cap for the duration of the contract. Collingwood had the opportunity to match any deal so I dont think it can be changed later.

I'd expect that if he were to be traded (I'll just add that I don't think he will be), then the team taking him would probably pay 50% of his salary and we'll pay the remaining 50%. If we're not prepared to pay some of his salary, I can't see any other club being willing to trade for him and pay him his full 600k per year, which effectively makes him un-tradeable.

We'll take McCarthy for Daisy, thanks.

We'll also recruit Weitering and Schache, and away we go.
