I might be alone in thinking this, but............

I refuse to believe that our list is a bottom 4 side!

Murphy, Gibbs, Yaz, Hendo, Menzel, Cripps, all have talent, A-list potential even.

Simmo and Judd, whilst ageing, are still capable of dominating.

Yes, we have some list cloggers and some seriously over paid spuds (warnock I'm looking right at you) but we have some decent players. Maybe not premiership material but i just think that Mick just isn't getting the best out of them.

But some other coach might.

We have a huge chunk of a list that have been complicit in deliberately shit performances that have lead to the dismissal of 3 separate coaches now.

Where do you draw the line?

And long may it continue. There is no point being mid-table. We need to bottom out hard, and do it fast. The sooner we do, the sooner we look to rebuild.

Hehe. You had me for a minute. Good one. But really, what should we do?

I know. Get Bomber Thompson. He'll get the best out of them.

Bomber and or Ling would my choices if available , able communicators and motivators , good tacticalisns too.
Thompson in particular we've seen can inspire the best from his team, both
should be coaching, plenty to offer.
Ciao

I think I like the blue tiles better than the white ones. They'll spiff up the bathroom a treat.

Spot on. Cripps and Dcoherty aside, no player should feel theyre worthy of any consideration.

Personally I wouldn't like it if Simmo played for another jumper, and I think they should keep Lach, but everyone else is fair game.

Walker, Simpson, Carrazzo, Murphy, Gibbs and to a lesser extent Jamison with 3 coaches sacked. Their position should be untenable. How can you lure in the best available coach with such a threat to job security hanging around the club?

Two for Judd, Kreuzer, Watson, Warnock, Yarran, Henderson, Armfield, Bell, Curnow, Casboult, Tuohy, White and Ellard...

agree, this is a damning stat.

Walker and Gibbs should go.
Carrazzo is already retiring.

Jamison has not had any competition due to poor list management...
He can stay if his next contract is reduced to provide protection for developing backmen.

In the second bracket, a lot of those are filler players, and it's up to SOS to draft well to force them out of the best team.

Yarran and Casboult are the interesting ones for me.
They will be the hardest decisions.

I expect that Henderson will leave of his own accord.

The bunch of spoiled bastards are holding the club to ransom - such is the culture at Carlton. A change of coach will do nothing. I'd say that there should be barely one player on the 'not to be traded' list.

Good opportunity to re-sign Henderson and make him Captain and our CHB.

Look on the bright side, it is a great time to re-build. The draft is not compromised. We just need to do this properly. A couple of top 10 picks, a couple of 2nd rounders, Silvagni and Rice. Things start looking good!

Yep, real "baby out with the bath water" stuff if we don't do our very best to keep him. Take the captaincy off Murph as a minimum.

Unfortunately they've already been taken.

I reckon we should wait another decade to use an early pick on a key forward.

Interested to know how many key defenders picked in the top 5 of the draft have ended up superstars of the competition? Taxi man is having a good year and L Hansen is not bad if he can play as a loose in defence.

Set the side up...no more thinking it can be done with rookie picks/discards like Casboult and Jones.

Carlton swapped pick 6 to the Giants for their KPD prospect Jaksch . He may become a KPF.
StKilda swapped pick 48 to Giants for their KPD prospect for Josh Bruce. He has already kickd 30 odd goals including a couple of bags.

We just have to get our recruiting right.
Hopefully SOS can lure some unknown talent the well paid and well stocked Giants recruiters had earmarked, let alone talent already with the Giants.

Jaksch better be developed properly. Getting a good player with plenty of upside is one part of the equation for success, the other part of the equation is development.

Our core for the next 5 years will come from Bell, Cripps, Docherty, Jaksch, Kruezer, Menzel, Buckley, Sheehan, Byrne, Touhy. Add some of Murphy, Gibbs, Henderson, Yarran (who I expect 1 or 2 to be traded).

It's solid without being outstanding. If we can get some A grade players around them they will be better players. Hopefully we can draft some class. The key going forward is to get some elite players and some leaders. That is what we lack.

Get a few first rounders in amongst 7-8 good selections (wouldn't that be nice) a fresh new coaching group and development program.

Hopefully this along with some possibles in DVR, Smith, Walsh, Whiley, Graham, Boekhurst, Foster, Fields can see us jump up very quickly.

Whilst our list is nowhere close to acceptable, starting a rebuild with already having Docherty, Cripps, Menzel, Jaksch etc is more than what most teams start with. STK really only had Steven & Armitage before they started trading Goddard etc.

Barker said he would sit down with list manager Stephen Silvagni at some point to map out a strategy for the remaining matches this season.

"We will, but we need to do that in good time. Right now we've got a pretty heavy task ahead of us tomorrow night and we're looking at that," the coach said.
